Remnant 2 – Save corrupted after freeze loading world

Playing Remnant 2 is a blast, right? You get to dive into an amazing, immersive world. But, every so often, technical hiccups can take the joy right out of the experience. If your Remnant 2 journey hit a roadblock because of a pesky world loading screen freeze, don’t sweat it. We’ve got your back with a handy solution to help you recover your progress. Ready to get back in the game? Follow these easy steps to breathe life back into your save file.

Summoning Your Backup Profile/Save File

If you have a backup profile or save file in your arsenal, you’re already halfway to restoring your Remnant 2 progress. Here’s how you go about it:

  1. Hit the Win+R keys on your keyboard. This will pull up the Run dialog box.
  2. Next, type in %userprofile% and hit Enter.
  3. You’re now looking at a window. From here, trace the path to Saved Games > Remnant2 > Steam > ((Your steamid)).
  4. Now, keep an eye out for files ending in .sav or .bak. They’re your save files.
  5. Before you change anything, make a copy of your current save files. To do this, simply rename or copy the sav_0.sav and/or profile.sav files to a different spot on your computer. It’s a quick insurance policy!
  6. Got any .bak files? If so, rename them to sav_0.sav and/or profile.sav.
  7. After you’ve done all that, reload the game and cross your fingers. If all goes well, your save file should be back in action.

We’re rooting for you to get your corrupted save file in Remnant 2 back on track. Here’s a friendly reminder: Always backup your game saves regularly. It’s the best way to sidestep losing progress due to unforeseen technical snags.

Thank you for turning to us for help. We’re tickled pink that you managed to sort out your save file with these steps! And remember, we’re here for you. If you have more questions or need help with anything else, don’t hesitate to ask. Happy gaming!
