With an easy little bug you can play extra game modes on maps where they aren’t available
Introduction
Intro
Hi there
A friend and I found a quick bug that lets you to play game modes on maps where they are unavailable.
I looked around online and couldn’t find any guides about it so I decided to make this.
The way it works is essentially just applying the RoE, Objectives and AI of the selected gamemode onto a somewhat “vanilla” barricaded suspects or Raid map setup.
Disclaimer :
-> It does NOT work for every game mode and every map.
-> Some maps will not let you play at all, some maps will let you play but the gamemode will bug and auto-win itself.
TLDR Guide :
- Select a mission(a) normally
- Select another map(b) instead, do not confirm gamemode and click return to game
- Map(b) will now have gamemode of mission(a), even if it’s not available.
- Park Homes, Car dealership and Port Hoken are buggy, don’t allow any other mode
- Raid : Works fine on most maps
- Active Shooter : Works technically but is MUCH harder than normal – details below**
- Bomb Threat : Does NOT work at all – details below***.
- Hostage Rescue : Works mostly, with some very mild bug – details below*
HOW TO (detailed) :
- Step 1 :In the lobby, select a mission normally, on a map where the desired gamemode is available, then confirm.
(Small Tip : Hotel or Gas Station are convenient as they have every gamemodes active)
In this example, I’d like to play Active Shooter, so I picked Wenderly Hills Hotel + Active Shooter.
- Step 2 :Open the map again, andselect the location you want to play on, click “confirm location” to display available gamemodes.
In this example, I’d like to play in the Cherryessa Farm (“Carriers of the Vine”) which doesn’t allow Active Shooter by default.
- Step 3 :Do NOT select a gamemode, and simply return to the map, or to game.
(please note how some of the gray-ed out gamemodes in the screenshot still have results and ratings, especially the ridiculous score on Bomb Threat – we’ll get to this later)
- Step 4 :You’re set – the projector will now display the location of your choice (Cherryessa Farm) and the gamemode of your previous choice (Active Shooter), even though it isn’t officially available.
.
- Step 5 :Start the mission and have fun, I guess.
Bugs :
As mentionned, the bug allows you to apply the rules of one gamemode to a map that normally isn’t setup for it, therefore, be ready to experience a bit of jank, rest assured it’s nothing dangerous though.
Here’s some examples of what you are sure to come across during these bugged missions, labelled with stars for future referencing :
* Mild Inconveniences – i.e civilians spawning in default, isolated locations on their knees unable to move in Hostage modes.
** Playable but at what cost : This renders the mission VERY difficult, if not impossible to complete or perfect, due to the way it is setup (i.e active shooters spawning next to civilians and killing them before you can even reach the compound)
*** Game-breaking / unplayable : The game blanks out, I assume because it doesn’t know ‘where’ to spawn ‘what’, with the map at its disposal.
You can play, but no NPCs or objectives have spawned at all, resulting in an inability to complete the mission and/or an auto-completion of the related objectives within seconds of starting the mission.
This allows you for instance to get an S score in 15:02s on bomb threat levels due to no bombs spawning, which I think is pretty amusing.
It will however keep you from clearing missions on Park Homes for example, because the meth is nowhere to be found.
The only exception is Port Hoken – Active Shooter, which didn’t even load for me.

Conclusion
Nothing to conclude here
Basically, just a few “improvised” raids and extra hostage modes on most maps, but I’ll personally take any extra content I can get.
It’s the first time I make a guide, so please do feel free to give me your inputs.
I’ll try to keep this updated.
