Hello and welcome, Rain World – Unlocking Slugpups and Taming Guide.

This is the complete guide to raising a slugpup.

Unlocking Slugpups

To unlock slugpups you must complete Gourmands Food Quest. You can eat almost anything in this game. To help you, there is an indicator of your hunger that can be found above the game. These are all you need to eat, according to the wiki. Rain World - Unlocking Slugpups and Taming Guide - Unlocking Slugpups - A068179

After completing the Food Tracker, you need to get the Outer Expanse ending.

Finding your Slugpup

Before you can get a slugpup, first you need to get one. They spawn at shelters located throughout the region. Each region has a different chance that a shelter will have a Slugpup. The Exterior is the least likely to have one. It has a 5% probability. Shaded Ciadel and Pipeyard make it easier to find them. Shaded Citadel and Pipeyard have a 50% chance of finding a Slugpup. (Dont get them confused as me lo) Industrial Complex is a good place to look for slugpups. The area has a 25% chance with a lot shelters. It is also small, making it easier. !!!NOTE!!! Slugpups are not available without mods in Survivor, Gourmand, Hunter.

Taming your Slugpup

When you meet your slugpup for the first time, either in or outside a shelter, they will be afraid. You can hold them in your hand and give them food if they refuse to let you grab. Once they are in your hand, you can grab them and place them on the top of your head. You don’t have the obligation to do this but I recommend it. Then, take the children to a shelter and place them in bed.

Raising your Slugpup

After sheltering together with your slugpup for a while, you’ll notice a smaller food selection above your own. This is your Slugpups food bar. They must be fed every cycle. Even if they can eat corpses, they won’t. Slugpups are picky eaters and will not eat other foods. You can try different foods to find the right food for your slugpup. If you give them things they don’t enjoy, they wont eat you. Slugpups won’t eat extra items that aren’t their own. Fun fact! You might find a lazy slugpup choosing to take a nap. It is more common for less energetic people to nap, but it is possible for more energetic people to tug at you while they are sleeping.

Their food bar will blink red if they are in imminent danger. Their food bar shrinks and turns grey when it is dead.

EXTRAS

Slugpup Training

You can train slugpups that certain enemies are threats and some prey. Slugpups are more likely kill enemies that they kill often. They are able to kill enemies better than most players despite the monk’s damage. They can also move around as you would, so don’t teach them how to jump into enemy faces.

You can also use this feature to tell your slugpup commands.

-Slugpups who jump while holding on to their feet are told to stay in the same place.

-If you leap once and don’t move, the slugpup can play with the person. In this mode the player is closer to the slugpup.

-Jumping while holding on tells the slugpup that he is done playing with the player.

Personality traits of a slugpup

Six personality traits are characteristic of Slugpups.

Aggression can be affected by empathy. Bravery affects aggression, nervousness, as well as dominance. Energy affects nervousness. Energetic or brightly colored slugpups enjoy holding shiny or beautiful things (pearls/overseer eyes, vulture masks, and pearls). Less energetic slugpups tend to nap less often. They also pull on the slugcat and tug when they are awake.

Nervousness is affected in part by energy and bravery. Slugpups who are nervous around other slugpups will also be affected. Energy, bravery and empathy are all factors that affect aggression. Aggression affects dominance. Aggressive slugpups have more weapons. Dominance is affected in energy, bravery and aggression. They also sometimes hold things such as noodlefly eggs. Dominant and dominant slugpups pick up more items than others.
