Quake II – how to solve without crashing on Windows 10

Download Quake II RTX

If you already have Quake II on Steam, GOG, Bethesda or you have the original copy. You will need to install Quake II RTX. You won’t need an RTX card to download Quake II RTX as you won’t be using it to play Quake II. 
 
 
 

Launch Quake II RTX

When launching Quake II RTX. It will show a window that will ask you if you want the demo or full version. Since you already have Quake II. Click on the full version. Now it will ask you to locate your Quake II directory. Once you have located the Quake II directory. Quake II RTX will copy the folder as well as fix a file that will help Quake II from crashing from windows 10. 
 
 
 

Launch Quake II

When everything is finished for Quake II RTX. You can launch Quake II and there will be no crashes. Good luck and have fun.
