Gameplay Basics (Monster)

As a monster your goal is to down survivors and send them to the feeding pit. If all the players are down at the same time the game will end without having to get them in the feeding pit.

Each monster has unique abilities, and every monster has atleast 1 tracking ability.

At the start of the game you are given 30 seconds to choose your monster from Boxy Boo, Huggy Wuggy, and Mommy Long Legs

If this is your first time playing the game I suggest playing either Boxy Boo or Huggy wuggy, Mommy Long-Legs is bit more tricky to get the hang of unless you know what you are doing.

  • Boxy Boo

Survivor Tricks and Tips

When playing the survivor you can use these yellow handles that are on the ceiling to cross gaps easily, possibly even saving you from the monster thats chasing you!

You can also grab onto green handles that are scattered across the map to pull yourself towards them to get ahead little bit faster.

Monster Tips and Tricks

If you are playing as the Boxy Boo use your Shift to jump towards survivors for surprise attacks. You can also hide yourself by holding Ctrl to become a box (From my experience this is never worth doing but if you want to surprise someone you can try it.)

If you are playing as the Huggy Wuggy use your Shift when the survivors are running in straight line or in tight corridors, this will make it easier to hit them.

Place your mini huggies on spots where people would walk by or near puzzle pillars.

If you are playing as the Mommy Long Legs Use your Space ability to get up high and surprise people by dropping on them. Dont waste all of your web on 1 person! Shoot at them few times so they slow down and then chase after.

Survivor Perks

Heres a list of survivor perks and what perks i think are worth running.

Perk costs are as follows, Level 1 – 600 tickets – Level 2 – 1200 tickets – Level 3 – 2400 tickets – So if you want to max out your perk/sabotage you need total of 4200 tickets.

1. Roly Poly – Lvl 1 – 1.5x Roll Time – Lvl 2 – 2x Roll Time – Lvl 3 – 2.5 Roll Time

This perk is great beginner perk since it helps in everything you want to do, get away from the monster, get to the next puzzle pillar faster. Overall this perk is really good.

2. Shadow Walker – Lvl 1 – 50% Speed Boost (Crouching only) – Lvl 2 – 75% Speed Boost (Crouching only) – Lvl 3 – 100% Speed Boost (Crouching only)

I cant say that i like this perk that much, since only real time you want to crouch is if the monster is close by and you really want to stay hidden, and even then you make noise when crouching. This is one of the worst perks you can have.

3. Leave No Trace – Lvl 1 – No footprints when crouching (Crouching removes all existing footprints) – Lvl 2 – No footprints when walking (Crouching removes all existing footprints) – Lvl 3 – No footprints. Ever. (Crouching removes all existing footprints)

This perk is an amazing perk…. against newer players, average player can hear where you are running to, or even see you running. However this perk is still really good for build where you want to be bit more stealthy.

4. Distant Savior – Lvl 1 – 20% Faster Saving – Lvl 2 – 30% Faster Saving – Lvl 3 – 40% Faster Saving

Testing required (I cant confirm if this only works for feeding pit, or if reviving player from the ground is also faster)

Do you like being altruistic? Well this perk might be your go to perk then. 40% Faster saving is really fast, this also helps you save people when the killer is camping so you dont have to stick around for as long and risk yourself from dying aswell!

5. Leadership – Heal people around you and yourself if you are healing your teammates Lvl 1 – 2% Every Second – Lvl 2 – 4% Every Second – Lvl 3 – 6% Every Second

Testing required (Does the healing speed affect teammates AND you or only teammates?)

I have not used this perk as i personally dont see it as good, however if your teammates are able to run away from the monster this perk is life saver. (Literally) Being able to heal back to full when you would otherwise be downed next hit is really good, though most average monsters will down you which means you dont get to use this perk as much.

6. Punching Bag – Lvl 1 – 15% More Health Your max health is 115 – Lvl 2 -30% More Health Your max health is 130 – Lvl 3 – 45% More health Your max health is 145

Being able to take extra hits can be the matter of life and death. Great perk, recommended.

7. ThinkFast – Reflex puzzle takes fewer hits to solve – Lvl 1 – 2 fewer (14 hits required) – Lvl 2 – 4 fewer (12 hits required) – Lvl 3 – 6 fewer (10 hits required)

Do you want to beat the game faster or do you want to grind tickets? ThinkFast reduces the puzzle time so much its almost a must if you want to speed up your game. I would recommend you buy Master Pianist first and then this so you can grind tickets even faster (Completing a puzzle rewards you with 20 tickets)

8. Genius – Allows Memory Puzzle’s 8-button codes to stay visible for longer. – Lvl 1 – 0,5 Second Increase – Lvl 2 – 0,75 Second Increase – Lvl 3 – 1 Second Increase

This is not worth your time, this will make the puzzle last longer which is not something you want. Avoid at all cost, worst perk in the game.

9. Master Pianist – Reduces the patterns in piano puzzle – Lvl 1- 1 Pattern Fewer (5 patterns required) – Lvl 2 – 2 Patterns Fewer (4 patterns required) – Lvl 3 – 3 Patterns Fewer (3 patterns required)

If you want to win fast or grinding tickets, this is your go to perk along with ThinkFast.

Monster Perks

Monsters also have perks (Sabotages) which will greatly help you with the hunt. Some perks are better on different characters, I recommend testing things what suits your playstyle the best.

Perk costs are as follows, Level 1 – 600 tickets – Level 2 – 1200 tickets – Level 3 – 2400 tickets – So if you want to max out your perk/sabotage you need total of 4200 tickets.

Each sabotage has a cooldown so you cant spam them, i will update the cooldown times on the list once i get the information for them

  • 1. Feeding Frenzy – While active, any survivors that you knock down (or any that have already been knocked down) but have not yet been carried to the feeding pit will automatically be sent there. Lvl 1 – 20 Second – Lvl 2 – 30 Seconds – Lvl 3 – 40 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

This sabotage is good if you are playing really aggressive. Huggy Wuggy and Boxy Boo benefit from this the most in my experience. Being able to instantly down someone and then chase after someone else. And being able to down someone and jump across the map to quickly find more survivors this sabotage will come in handy.

  • 2. Boobytrap – When activated, the puzzles nearest to you will be boobytrapper! If a survivor attempts to use a sabotaged puzzle, it will explode, damaging them, and alerting you of their location. Dealt damage unkown, requires testing – Lvl 1 – 2 Puzzle Pillars are trapped – Lvl 2 – 3 Puzzle Pillars are trapper – Lvl 3 – 4 Puzzle Pillars are trapper

    Cooldown period: Unknown

From my experience this sabotage seems to do fine with more mobile monsters like Boxy Boo and Mommy Long Legs, quickly get in the middle of the map and activate it and you will find few people right away. Best used as soon as its off cooldown and you are around middle of the map (Still works fine if not used at the middle)

  • 3. Directionless – While active, all indicators on the survivors’ screens will disappear. Things such as the location of the train, toy parts, and active puzzles will no longer be visible to survivors. – Lvl 1 – 30 Seconds – Lvl 2 – 45 Seconds – Lvl 3 – 60 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

I have not used this perk, overall seems really useless since they can still try the puzzles and if they work they keep doing it. Can help if you play aggressive so they dont know where you drop survivors into. Still though I dont see much more use for this, maybe best for Huggy Wuggy and/or Boxy Boo if you play super aggressive.

  • 4. Living Nightmare – While active, the environment will become extremely dark and foggy for survivors, severely limiting their vision and sense of direction. – Lvl 1 – 20 Seconds – Lvl 2 – 30 Seconds – Lvl 3 – 40 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

Its…. okay i guess? Experienced survivors know how the maps work and will listen to your footsteps so they can still get a head start if they hear you coming, however you can use Boxy Boos high jump (Shift) or Mommy Long Legs arm (Space) to surprise survivors by quickly getting close to them.

  • 5. No Pack – When activated, all survivors’ grabpacks will break down, and they will have to run up to one another in order to fix them. Fixing the grabpack takes only 1~ second which can make this really useless if people know that they can fix them – Lvl 1 – 5 Seconds – Lvl 2 – 10 Seconds – Lvl 3 – 15 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

This sabotage sounds really good on paper, they cant do any puzzles if they cant use their grab packs right? Well thats where you are wrong… Any experienced survivors will instantly repair their grab packs if they are next to each other making this perk horrible at the start, and better at the end game. If you want to slow down the part collecting go with something else.

  • 6. No Escape – While active, survivors are without defense. All grapple handles and crash doors stop working and all Port-A-Lounges open up to reveal any survivors hiding within. – Lvl 1 – 15 Seconds – Lvl 2 – 30 Seconds – Lvl 3 – 45 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

Good when you are chasing people. Thats about it.

  • 7. Shutdown – When activated, all puzzles will stop working entirely. Survivors are forced to find one of the two breakers within the environment and manually reactivate all puzzles there. – Lvl 1 – 10 Seconds to repair the breaker – Lvl 2 – 15 Seconds to repair the breaker – Lvl 3 – 20 Seconds to repair the breaker

    Coodlown period: Unknown

Really good for slowdown and possibly even getting couple downs. Use at the very start and rush into one of the breakers and you will most likely find someone there. Try to use as often as possible, you also know when someone fixes the breakers. Good on Boxy Boo because of his high agility

  • 8. Total Lockdown – When activated, all crash doors will slam shut, closing off several access points throughout the map. – Lvl 1 – Doors are closed for 30 Seconds – Lvl 2 – Doors are closed for 45 Seconds – Lvl 3 – Doors are closed for 60 Seconds

    Cooldown period: Unknown

I have had great success with this sabotage while using Huggy Wuggy, first get closer then close the doors and the panic sets in as they have nowhere to run. This forces them to open places and/or tight corridors so you can easily use your Shift ability to instantly down them
