Prey – DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide 1 - steamlists.com

In the DLC Mooncrash, items are spawning more or less randomly, but there are powerful items that have precise spawn spots. That does not mean that the item HAS to be in that spot, it means that when it spawns, it is in one of these spots. Knowing where to look makes farming a lot easier and prevents you from wasting your time on the whole area.

Please let me know if there are some other items I didn’t mention that you would like to know about, or if I missed some spawing spots!

You will find me making a lot of references to my guide on vent locations, because these lead to some of the items I will be discussing. You can find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2410479162 – [steamcommunity.com]

How to guarantee an item?

Some items can drop for sure under conditions.

  • DelayLoop.Time

It allows you to decrease the corruption meter. Be careful, it cannot decrease the corruption level, only the meter. Meaning that if you are into level 2 of corruption, it will not bring you back to level 1. However, if you are into level 2 and about to go into level 3, it can reduce the meter and therefore buys you time. An item that buys you time is extremely useful when you are running against it!

It spawns for sure on the corpses of some typhons, like the technopaths, the telepaths, and the weavers.

Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - How to guarantee an item? - BD492B7

Note that these big typhons also spawn on very regular locations at precise corruption levels. Kill one of these and loot their corpse to be sure to have one. You can also craft it as there is a plan for it available for the fabricator. One, if not the most useful items in the game for me.

  • Control Modules

Control Modules are used all around Pytheas: they power the zones (as you can see in the Power Control room in the Crater)

    as well as the tram

An unpowered Tram Station will not work, and from another station it will be shown as inaccessible. An unpowered zone will have the emergency lighting, which is not a lot. The doors will be unpowered, and therefore you will be unable to open them if you are not playing as Bhatia (I guess his Strength upgrade allows him to force unpowered doors open, I actually haven’t tried if it works just like in the main game). Either way, it is a pain. Whether the Control Modules are broken or missing at the beginning of your run is random, although that type of event can only be triggered after unlocking all the playable characters. They can be repaired, but if you are not playing as Joan or if it is missing, you will have no choice but to get a new one. They can be crafted too, but it requires the fabrication plan and a lot of materials. The Harvesters work with them: destroy one and loot the carcass to find a Control Module. A Harvester that is always broken (the one in Moonworks) might not contain a Control Module. You have to earn it by figuring out where they spawn or by defeating a Harvester.

The spots shown in this guide are guaranteed, meaning there HAS to be a Control Module in these spots, unlike the other items.

  • Golden suitcases and crates

They contain interesting loot, such as neuromods, fabrication plans and chips. Some suitcase that was normal one run might turn out golden in a next one, meaning their spots alternate between regular suitcases ones. Golden crates work on the same principle, except they are more likely to contain weapons and neuromods.

Crater

  • DelayLoop.Time spots

There is one Loop that can spawn in this spot, that is to the left of the entrance of Moonworks. Here you don’t see it, because in my run it didn’t spawn, but sometimes there is one here

Another Loop can drop in the entrance to Crew Quarters, behind the Typhon Gate.

  • Control Modules spots

There are no spots in particular, if you really need one you can always fight the Harvester that roams in this area.

  • Golden suitcases and crates

There is a crate, near the entrance to the Pytheas Labs, that is always golden. It is on top of the tower in front of the typhon gate.

You will find a golden crate in the cargo suspended in the entrance to Moonworks. Climb on the equipement that is attached to the walls and with a jetpack you should be able to reach there.

Haven’t verified yet but pretty sure that if you climb on top of the Fabricator that is at the top of the Central Tower, you can find a vent (ha!) and a corpse holding a golden suitcase.

Moonworks

  • DelayLoop.Time spots

There are several spots in this area where the item can drop:

In the second floor of the decomissioned crater access

When you arrive in this area from the Crater, you have the possibility to take the stairs on the right after the Recycler and Fabricator. If you go straight, you can arrive in the showers of the staff.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - 2EA2754

Another can drop in the corridor leading to the showers, and in that case it would be located on a shelf.

In the emergency supply crate near the catapult

By “catapult”, I refer to the place in the Central Mine where you are launched, not the area where you control the launch. Next to that cargo container, there is a supply crate that can countain a DelayLoop.Time.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - D872F94

In the breakroom near the security station

Sometimes it appears on the table of the breakroom.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - 2875624

  • Golden suitcases and crates spots

You have one that can be found near a corpse in the Central Mine.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - F1626C3

That is Joseph Khan’s corpse, that you can find him with the tracking fonction of the security station.

You can find a golden crate in the room near the security station that has a fabricator and recycler. It will be in between the two. Enter via hack, repair, mimic or remote manipulation to get the crate without entering.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - 833A36E

There is a golden suitcase that you will find in what I call the “secret area”. It can be found in different ways (check my guide on vents huehue) but you can go through this broken glass in the Tram Station

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Moonworks - 5640CF4

  • Control Modules spots

There is no spot I can think of, outside of the broken Harvester, or destroy the working one. I found one on that corpse, cannot tell if it is a spawn spot, but be sure to check this body and let me know if you find it as well

Crew Quarters

  • DelayLoop.Time spots

Sometimes this item can spawn in one of the habitation modules, in particular this one

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - 9F8DC61

(I know, in this run it wasn’t there, but I can confirm my memories with playthroughs. When it does spawn here, it stays on the table.

It can be in the Habitation Pod of Kenneth McAlistair.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - AE4D649

  • Control Modules spots

There are 2 Control Modules that you can get in this area. One is in the Utility Room -basically the room where Claire works, the one with the recycler and fabricator-. No matter the state of the door (broken or not, locked or not) you can always get in via a vent (look at my guide on vents to know how to access it). You will find a Control Module on the right side of the door, under a table.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - 3A6A8F1

Another can be found in one of the Habitation Pods

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - 4A8EE01

  • Golden crates and suitcases spots

There is a golden crate that can be found in the kitchen

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - F506258

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - D9114E4

Unlike the previous one, this crate is not alwalys golden… as you can see I didn’t get lucky.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - 4FA2768

This one can be found in the reserve of the kitchen. The door can be damaged or locked, in those cases use the vent to get there (and check my guide on vents if you can’t tell which one I am refering to :,) )

In Ai Mizuki’s office, you will be able to find a golden crate, all the time. Get into Alex’s Office to enter Ai’s, even if the door is broken since there is a vent connecting the two rooms (have I told you that I made a guide on vents yet? No, you sure?)

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Crew Quarters - 19F923D

Finally, there is another guaranteed golden crate in the utility room, the one with the fabricator and recycler. If you cannot enter via the door, there is a vent that is always available (how convenient it would be if someone made a guide about vents, am I right?).

Pytheas Labs

  • Password for the Psychotronics Weapons Research

There is a room on the first floor, near the Behavioral Analytics, that has two doors, both locked with a keypad for a code.

The code is the same for both doors (thankfully). This code is randomly generated -as for as I know- however you will find a yellow sticky note with the code written on it somewhere nearby. That sticky note spawns on different spots for each run, though I have not checked yet if it HAS to spawn or if in some runs it can be completely absent. Either way, the spots where it spaws are:

-In the Morgue, on the left wall when you enter the room,

-Behavioral Analytics on the desk on the left side of the room. This room has often a broken door but the window is made of breakable glass, no matter who you play as you can always get in.

  • DelayLoop.Time

I only recall seeing a DelayLoop.Time laying around in Volunteer Prep (basically the first room to your left when you enter from the crater, before accessing the corridors of Volunteer cells), I will play more runs and confirm that.

  • Control Modules

There are 3 Control Modules that you can get. One is in the Weapons Lab (see above on how to get in)

  • Golden suitcases and crates

There is only one I can think of, one that is in the weapons reserve in the Security Booth.

    Prey - DLC Mooncrash Information + Loots + Map + Level Guide - Pytheas Labs - 382337F

The keycard to that reserve is always found on the corpse of a Volunteer located in Pytheas Labs, so it shouldn’t be too long to get. Good loot in that little room!
