Welcome, and we hope you find this guide to Plan B: Terraform – How to install akarnokd mods useful.
Plan B. Terraform, currently in Early Access stage, does not support Steam Workshop. However, this does allow for modders to create amazing mods. akarnokd created the QoL/Cheat mob. This guide explains how to install Akarnokd mods. It also explains the features available with the mods.
Preamble
i Note: This guide refers to my Traditional Chinese guide, [steamcommunity.com].
.
Plan B. Terraform, currently in Early Access stage, does not support Steam Workshop. However, this does NOT stop players who are pa*sionate about making mods. One of the most notable mods is the QoL/Cheat mods that akarnokd has created.
This guide is intended to provide step by step instructions for installing the akarnokd MODS and outline the core functions of the mods. You can find more information about akarnokd modding on the mods page.
Github page – [github.com]
. (This guide is a simplified edition of that page.
Installation Steps
1. Download the.zip file containing BepInEx 5.4.21
BepInEx – An open-source plugin / modding platform for Unity Mono IL2CPP and.NET Framework games.
Visit
BepInEx Releases Page – [github.com]
Download the 64 bit BepInEx.21+.
i Note: You should not download the prerelease 6.x.x version.
2. Unpack and place the BepInEx.zip file in the game’s directory
Here’s one example of the most commonly used path for the game directory:
C:\Program Files (x86 – \Steam\steamapps\common\Plan B Terraform\
i Note: Different devices may have different paths to the directory.
Move the BeplnEx.zip downloaded file into the game’s directory. Right click the.zip to select “Extract This”.
3. Generate the BepInExplugins directory
Run the game. Then quit the game. The plugins directory must then be found under the BeplnEx folder.
Here’s an example for the most common path to the plugins directory.
C:\Program Files (x86 – \Steam\steamapps\common\Plan B Terraform\BepInEx\plugins
i Notice: The path to plugins directory can differ between devices.
4. Download the.zip file to akarnokd mods
Visit
akarnokd modifications releases page – [github.com]
To download the most recent akarnokd.zip. If you are only looking to install a particular mod and not the whole package, you can download the.zip file.
5. Unpack the mod.zip files into the BepInExplugins directory
Move the.zip mod file that you downloaded into your BepInExplugins folder. Next, right-click on the file and click “Extract Here”. After the extraction is complete it should be possible to activate the Mods during your playthrough.
i Note: It is important to preserve the directory structure within the.zip file. This allows players to install and uninstall mods easily.
6. Mod configuration (Optional).
Many mods contain configuration files which you can edit under BepInExconfig directory. These files are editable via any text editor.
If something doesn’t work, delete the.cfg. Mods will create a default version the next time the game starts.
Uninstallation Steps
1. Delete the mod directory under the BepInExplugins directory
If you want to delete a particular mod, you only need to delete the mod directory and all files. Example:
c:\Program Files (x86 – \Steam\steamapps\common\Plan B Terraform\BepInEx\plugins\akarnokd – (Feat) Add City Names
2. Delete mod configurations from the BepInExconfig directory.

Add Cities
You can customize the list of cities the game will use to generate your map. The game randomly chooses these names.
In the configuration, list all city names (comma seperated). Mods can then add or remove these names from the default game list.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.feataddcitynames.cfg
City Population Label
Display the city population number in the main view and the minimap (configurable).
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.uicitypopulationlabel.cfg
Priority for Depot
So containers can be force-transferred into higher priority depots if they are set with priorities
Select a depot from the list and click on the small panel in the screen’s bottom left corner. The up-and-down buttons can be used to adjust the priority. You can have any prioritization number, but it is only the relative amounts between depots within each others reach.
When copying a prioritised depot, newly constructed depots will copy the priority numbers (not holding any keys), give ever increasing numbers while Shift is held, and decrease in number by pressing Ctrl. This should allow you to create long priority chains that can be used forwards or backwards. To reset priority, use the Middle button on the panel.
To show or hide priority numbers in a world overlay, press P (configurable).
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.featdepotpriority.cfg
Disable Building
Use an onscreen button or keyboard shortcut to activate and deactivate production buildings.
Toggling enable/disable a building with K (configurable), or using the factory icon button (default lower-left of screen) is an option. Disabled buildings will appear as a red circle (), above the buildings on your main screen.
Your save maintains the building status. The save format of the mod is not altered and it remains compatible to the vanilla save. This means that you won’t have to remove the mod.
The size and position of the factory button do not adjust to the screen resolution. The configuration settings allow the player to adjust its size and position.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.featdisablebuilding.cfg
Visit Exhausted Extractors
Shows a blinking panel in the bottom left corner if an extractor has run out of minable.
The panel doesn’t adapt to screen sizes. The panel can be moved by the player using the configuration.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.featgotoexhaustedextractors.cfg
Hotbar
This adds a bar to the bottom of the screen that has 3 subpanels and 9 slots. This allows you quickly to select the building you wish to build.
The H key (configurable), allows you to hide the bar.
Right click on any building that you want to use for a slot. To hide the selection pane, press Escape. Mouse scroll allows you scroll the panel. Click the middle to clear a space.
The hotbar lets you choose any building.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.feathotbar.cfg
More Cities
In order to create a new game, you will need to generate more cities.
Currently, the default setting is 3 cities for each planet. This mod adds a slider in the New Planet screen, where you can adjust the number of cities to be generated. If you set it at 2, the game will have five cities.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.featmorecities.cfg
More Ore Fields
Modify the logic of ore field generation by changing the field frequency or size range in the New Planet dialog.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.featmoreorefields.cfg
Live GUI Scaler
This mod requires game version 623+. It is not compatible with older versions of the game due to a lack of official scaling support.
Hold CTRL while pressing Numpad Minus, Numpad Max or Numpad Plus to scale the GUI. You can set the minimum (50%) or maximum (300%) as well as the scaling step (5%)
Note: The game can scale between 70% and 270%. You may see the options screen jump back into this range if you click on the options button.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.uiliveguiscaler.cfg

VSync Limit Framerate
VSync in Unity games will defaultly render everything at the system’s default framerate when it is turned on. E.g., 60 FPS if you have 60Hz monitor. Unfortunately, this can put unnecessary strain on the system.
VSync will reduce framerates by the mod to 1/2/3/3/4 of their default framerate. The config file may contain the setting for the divider.
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.uivsynclimitframerate.cfg
Anywhere you can build ice extractors

All resource extractions will have a minimum amount that will never run dry. The default is at least 500 units
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.cheatendlessresources.cfg
Speed up Progress
Configuration file: akarnokd.planbterraformmods.cheatprogressspeed.cfg

Many QoL features are in the works according to the Dev (i.e. Gaddy, the solo modder, already has many QoL features in place. However these features may not be implemented immediately. Players can always rely on akarnokd mods for a better gaming experience. Many thanks for akarnokd (;. ) <3
