Meant to be a new guide for players confused on the game.

The basics

So, lets get a few things straight.
1. The spirit box is limited, but I will go more in depth.
2. The thermometer is unreliable but I will still go in more depth.

When you start off, you will either want to get a small map (preferably tanglewood) or leech off of some multiplayer rounds. I wont tell you what to buy because some things are better in other people eyes.

Go for intermediate, you wont want to go much above until you think you can handle a challenge.

The next parts will have detail on most of the items.

The EMF Reader

The EMF reader is a simple tool used to measure activity, it will go off when it’s near a ghost or when activity is going down.

If it reaches 5 then that’s something you can log in your book. This only goes for when it’s out of hunts, during hunts the EMF reader is unreliable.

The EMF reader works on the ground if you just throw it so feel free to leave it there.
BUT MAKE SURE IT’S TURNED ON. You can tell because the light will be on.

The louder or higher pitched the beep, the higher the activity. The lights also show it if you want to look at it.

The Disgusting Thermometer

The Thermometer has recently gotten nerfed, and is unreliable unless it’s freezing

The Thermometer works kinda the same, but you need the break on. It will take like 3 minutes but then it will be normal. (About 3 is what your looking for)

To use it simply turn it on and look at the floors, walls, or ceiling of any room and it will give a temp.

Below 10 is no longer the ghost room ok cool.

The Blacklight. (or UV)

The UV is used to show fingerprints, they will appear on windows, doors, jail cell openings, and light switches.

You can also get footprints, but FOOTPRINTS ARE NOT THE SAME AS FINGERPRINTS, they only show where the ghost is going when you put salt down and they go through it and you shine a UV light on the ground nearby. It does not count as evidence. The ghost might not leave footprints, too.

It can be placed on the ground too for more automated use.

The Camera

The Camera is used to track player movement, ghost movement and activities and overall is the most useful item in the van when placed. It’s only great great in multiplayer because someone can be doing something during that time.

The Head mounted camera is similar, but it shows what a players sees (slightly off because it’s a bit more up and at an angle. When all lights in a area are off and nightvison is enabled you can find ghost orbs. It can be used to find the ghost room or to get evidence.

The Flashlight

The Flashlight is used to see, when in your hand click to enable it and when out of hand press T to put it on your shoulder (press t again to turn it off).

The strong flashlight is similar, but has more range and is brighter.

Salt

Salt is used for one of the objectives and for people who want to track ghost movement temporarily.

Simply put some on the ground, there is 3 salt clumps per bottle and when walked through will show the pile disturbed. It will show the ghost movement for a little but only if you have a UV light.

The salt is kinda useless in a way.

Tripods

Tripods are used to give cameras more range as cameras can be placed on them so that they are not on the ground or a low position. Just buffs cameras.

Sensors

There are 3 main sensors.
The light sensor.
The motion sensor.
The sound sensor.

The light sensor will not appear on the map, but gives off light when something passes through it.
The motion sensor is shown on the map in the van, and when in person will turn green and in the van it will turn green and make a beep.
The sound sensor will take all the sound in a general area and put it on a graph in the van.

Glowsticks

Glow sticks are similar to UV lights but they are designed to be put down on the ground to give a area of UV light.

Lighter (and the items that it’s for)

The light itself is not useful, only when combined with the candle or the smudge stick.

The candle can be lit when in hand by pressing F and will make a light that the ghost will not count as a light on and one that will not flicker. I will go out over time and will need to be re-liten. It can also go out if the ghost blows it out.

The smudge stick is used to make ghosts not able to hunt and for an objective. Press F with it in your hand and if you are within 6 meters of a ghost it will disable it from hunting for a little. Some ghosts have this effect longer and some will be stuck to their room.

Parabolic mic

It detects sound in front of it, it can be used to show where the ghost it but is only really great when it’s in big maps.

Spirit box

The Spirit box is used to communicate with ghosts, it is also a evidence piece.

It is more limited then you think, but here are the basic questions (No i’m not going through all those advanced ones, just the ones that help the most.) ( by advances I mean the different ways to say it.)

Another note, you have to be in a dark room. (No lights minus candles, flashlights or glow sticks.)

How old are you? Discovers the ghosts age, Young, old, adult or child is what I have gotten.

Where are you? It will respond with Behind, Near, Far, Close, or away.

Are you friendly? Determines the aggression level. Responds with Kill, Hate, Murder, or leave

Can you give us a sign? Causes the ghost to turn off a light, shut or open a door, hunt, leave finger prints, go through salt, write in a book or throw an item.

The Lugi board.

IS A ME, MARIO!!1!!11.

The Ouija board is a more advanced but more time consuming version of the spirit box.

A few questions that work.
How old are you? Gives a specific number.
Where are you? Gives the room name.
Can you give us a sign? Can make it hunt or do a thingy.
How long have you been here? Gives a specific number.
There are a few more but I feel not many of them are useful.

You loose alot of sanity when using one if it does it right, unless it’s a demon. It can also hunt if it does not work, the light will flicker and all that.

Sanity Pills

Sanity Pills restore sanity when eaten, nothing else needed to say.

The Van.

The van is arguably one of the best tools you have.

Here you can find the objectives on the whiteboard, along with what the name of the ghost is.
Below professional you can find what it responds to.
You can see everyone’s individual sanity along with the total (what the ghost goes off of)
You can see the map and all the floors, along with the exit, the players, motion sensor, and where the generator is.

You have the cam system, use the keyboard to switch between night vision and normal.
You can see where sound is but you need a sensor.
All your gear is on the shelf and all that.

Extra notes

Professional is one heck of a ride.
The generator starts off, causing temperatures to be inaccurate.
The ghost is more aggressive and you have no starter safe time. (Marked by the clock)
You can’t tell what is responds to.
There is no insurance.

overall hope this helped. I just saw no real in depth guide or guide that had the new thermo so I made this.
