A simple guide on how to obtain more BP in order to complete the story missions that have BP requirements, and unlock the areas associated with them.

Getting More BP in NGS

There’s really not that much to cover here, so this guide will be pretty short. I describe why I think some things should be done, but it doesn’t really need entire separate sections to click between.

Raising Your Mainclass Level

This should be obvious that raising your level would increase your BP, as each level increases your stats, but let’s just cover everything. The subclass’ levels do not seem to contribute to BP, I’m not sure if they increase your stats at all other than from skillpoints, but if they do it’s such a small difference it’s not noticeable. It works this way because they wanted you to have more freedom in which subclass you choose, by only the skills from the subclass affecting your stats, and not the stats of the actual class, this brings up another important aspect of the next way to increase BP

Assigning Skillpoints

Each skillpoint you assign to your main and subclass increases your BP, it doesn’t matter what the skill is, it will increase your BP anyway. Of course it’s recommended to try to increase your damage output too, but if you just have spare points leftover, assign them anyway, even if you can’t use the skill it’s associated with because of your weapons, or that it’s a mainclass only skill. (Prioritize skills you can use though). You get these skillpoints for clearing Cocoons and Towers, you don’t have to complete any of their bonus objectives to get the skillpoints. You do full damage to the enemies in them if you’re within 5 levels of them, so if you’re level 10 you can do the level 15 ones, you get revived for free in them anyway, so there’s not really a reason not to do them then.

Upgrading your Gear

Each enhancement level on your gear increases your stats, thus increasing your BP, I recommend doing so on at least Tzvia gear (unfortunately some Tzvia weapons can only be obtained as drops, or from the player shop because the weapon shop npc doesn’t sell them, but you can however get Tzvia units from him), doing so on Primm weapons would be a waste, but you don’t want to hold off until you get 4* gear (the current highest rarity) in order to do so. You won’t even be able to get to fight the enemies that drop gear at those rarities before increasing your BP to unlock the higher BP areas anyway. Use any gold and silver primm weapons you find as the materials for upgrading weapons, they both increase the enhancement level more, and make the costs less.

Augments that increase the potency of the stat your mainclass uses for it’s weapons (and potency in general) increase your potency as well, and you can unlock the potential multiple times for an equip to increase it’s effects (thus more potency and more BP). You should focus on your weapon first if you want to be more aggressive, or your units first if you want to be more supportive, but remember to upgrade both. Units can also be limit broken, unlike in base PSO2, so level 10 isn’t their level cap either.

Turning your weapon into a multiweapon doesn’t affect BP at all (or rather the BP only takes the main weapon in the combination (aka the one you selected first to create the multiweapon) into consideration, as the second weapon gets all it’s stats and damage calculation from the main one), but you will have to do so at one point to progress through the game. But it’s useful to do so anyway. Switching weapons normally to use their attacks makes lingering effects disappear, (tech fields, kill-markers on enemies, etc) and has a longer delay than switching between the attacks on a multiweapon.
