Guide and Combo document for Normal/Shadow Aigis in 2.5. Numpad notation is important but it’s pretty easy to learn. Unlike the meme Adachi guides, this guide is legitimately designed to help you learn the character. Links are included to the 2.5 Dustloop Wiki.
Changes from 1.1 (Console) to 2.5 (PC)
It’s important to know that versions 2.0 and 2.5 are identical in terms of game mechanics and system changes, the difference is that 2.0 was the updated arcade version only released in Japan while 2.5 is the PC Steam port. You can tell what version of the game footage is by looking at the timer at the top of the screen, 1.1 matches have a blue timer while 2.0 and 2.5 matches have a white timer.
1.1 Aigis has higher damage, and consumes less Orgia gauge with all attacks (For example 1.1 Orgia Dash uses at least 20% orgia, while 2.5’s Dash uses 25%). On the bright side, 2.5 Aigis has a lot faster moves in neutral such as mortar and 2C. Overall she was nerfed heavily, but so was everyone else so it’s not too bad. Almost all of her 1.1 combos will work in 2.5, but with about 30% less damage.
Her tiering placement actually rose in the change, from about 5th in 1.1 to arguably 3rd in 2.5, though some players argue she’s trash now, largely due to a lack of character representation in the west.

Shadow Aigis:
Aigis is one of the only characters in 2.5 with a Normal form that can keep up with their Shadow form. Every other character (Besides arguably Narukami) has a far superior shadow version, but Aigis’ shadow is a well balanced counterpoint to Normal Aigis. S.Aigis has a larger focus on meter/Orgia management for the benefit of nuclear damage output at 100 Meter and meterless double mode change combos. Shadow also always has access to awakening spear (214214A) which is an extremely quick and powerful reversal option. The main downside of Shadow Aigis is less damage and her albeit incredible autocombo consuming bullets, which can be frustrating in prolonged matches.
Normal Aigis of course has the flat 10% damage boost, and a useful autocombo of her own which leads into good mode change routes/corner shenanigans. Both Aigis forms are likely top tier, and there’s no clear consensuson which is better. Just pick your favorite.
Important Terms
These terms will be used repeatedly, so here’s what they mean.
- oad = Orgia Air Dash. j.AB while in Orgia Mode
- hover = j.2AC
- air turn = j.AC
- ml = mortar loop. 214A/B > hover > 214A/B > hover, while in Orgia Mode.
- spml = sp mortar loop. 214AB > hover > 214A/B > hover, while in Orgia Mode. Costs 25 SP
Here’s how to understand Numpad Notation – [dustloop.com] but in essence just treat the numbers as directions on a phone number pad. Like 236A means Down Down-Forward Forward A.
Ultimax doesn’t explain what ABCD are, but they’re just the attack buttons.
A B C D
So 236D would just be
Simple, eh?
Non-Orgia Combos
Unfortunately, Aigis is pretty terrible without the threat of Orgia. Her entire gameplan outside of it is to either confirm into a mode change combo or stall the opponent with midscreen zoning and her long autocombo. Avoid entering burnout at all costs, because Aigis is completely helpless when Orgia is off the table.
Combo | Damage | SP+ | Difficulty | Form | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
5AAAA > dl ad > j.2B > j.B > 66 > 5B > jc > j.A(3) > j.B > j.2B | 1473 | 17 | Intermediate | Regular | Burnout non-orgia midscreen combo. |
5B > 5C > jc > j.2C > 236[A] > ground dash > 5AAAA > 236[-B] | 2525 | 24 | Intermediate | Regular | Corner burnout non-orgia combo. [A] means you hold the A button during the move. |
5A > 5B > 5C > jc iad > j.B > j.2C > j.236[A] > ground dash > 5AAAA > j.236[-B] > 236236D | 3266 | -25 | Intermediate | Regular | Corner non-orgia metered combo, corner carries a short distance. IAD means Instant Air Dash |
236[-B] was listed as -B instead of B because steam guides interprets B surrounded by [] as bold formatting.
Mode Change Combos
Combo | Damage | SP+ | Difficulty | Form | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
5A > 5B > 2AB > 22B | 688 | 7 | Easy | Both | Basic combo into Orgia mode change, giving you great oki pressure, a j.B safejump and single/double crossups. |
5AAAA > ad > j.2B > 22B | 950 | 10 | Easy | Regular | More damaging mode change combo, only works mid screen and will drop if either you or opponent is too close to the corner. |
5AAAA > dl ad > j.2B > j.B > 5B > 2C > 22B > j.236D | 1769 | 24 | Intermediate | Regular | Pinnacle of midscreen mode change combo, provides good damage and excellent Oki. Delay the airdash and IMMEDIATELY j.2B once you use it, j.2B lag will end before you land which lets you use j.B. |
5AA > 22B > j.C(1) > 236D | 1219 | 19 | Easy | Shadow | S.Aigis basic mode change. It eats bullets unlike normal Aigis, but better damage. |
5AAA > jc > j.B > j.2B > 5B > 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236D | 1853 | 33 | Intermediate | Shadow | S.Aigis’ BnB mode change route. |
2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236D > 5B > jc > j.B > jc > j.C > 236D | 3060 | 33 | Easy | Both | 2C anti-air mode change. Remember to delay your jump after the 22B until you’re descending, or else you won’t actually jump. |
FC 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236CD > 214B > hjc > j.C > 236D | 3841 | -14 | Intermediate | Both | FC 2C anti-air route, 236CD’s usage will be explained later. |
Corner Mode Change Combos
Combo | Damage | SP+ | Difficulty | Form | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
5A > 5B > 5C > 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > j.236D | 1923 | 24 | Easy | Both | Basic Corner combo into mode change. You need to delay your jump after the 22B until you start to fall, otherwise you won’t jump. |
5A > 5B > 5C > jc iad > j.B > j.2C > j.236[A] > ground dash > 2C > 22B > j.C > j.236D | 2488 | 32 | Intermediate | Both | Corner Carries a short distance. IAD means Instant Air Dash, and a [] around a letter means hold that button, in this case hold A in 236A to fall all you use it. |
Orgia Combos
Combo | Damage | SP+ | Difficulty | Form | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
5AA > jc > j.C > j.236D | 1659 | 18 | Beginner | Both | As with all combos ending in 236D, it grants a safejump. |
5AA > jc > j.C > j.236CD > land > 214B > hjc > j.C > j.236D | 2678 | -13 | Easy | Regular | 25 SP version of the last combo. 236CD is amazing because it keeps the opponent in the air for long enough to Aigis to land and perform a grounded mortar before the opponent even lands. |
5AAAAA > oad > j.236D | 1832 | 31 | Easy | Regular | Good sp gain autocombo route, typically Aigis doesn’t really need much SP as she can do great damage off just 25 SP. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > j.C > 5B > jc > j.C > j.236D | 2548 | 23 | Easy | Both | Basic meterless combo off sweep. Very easy and consistent to perform. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.C > j.236D > 5B > jc > j.B > j.2B | 3000 | 27 | Intermediate | Both | More difficult meterless sweep route. Learning this route’s timing is important for her more complicated stuff. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > j.C > 5B > jc > j.C > j.236CD > land > 214B > hjc > j.C > j.236D | 3558 | -9 | Intermediate | Both | 25 SP version of the last combo. BnB sweep combo for very little meter. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.C > j.236CD > j.214A > hover > air turn > air turn > ml > jc > j.C > j.236D | 4177 | -7 | Hard | Both | Beginner mortar loop route. ML, hover and air turn are explained above. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 5AAAA > oad > ml > jc > j.C > j.236D | 3000 | 33 | Intermediate | Shadow | Shadow Aigis meterless mortar loop route. |
j.B > 5AAAA > oad > ml > jc > j.C > j.236CD > land > Frenzy > 214AB > 236236D > 214214CD | 5305 | -100 | Hard | Shadow | Natural Frenzy mortar loop route. Natural Frenzy only uses half burst, it happens when you Shadow Frenzy without having cancelled into it. |
FC 2C > 214B > hjc > j.C > ml > j.214A > oad > ml > ml > j.236D > j.236C | 4631 | 40 | Hard | Both | Fatal Counter 2C anti-air combo. Not easy to learn. |
Corner Orgia Combos

(5A > 5B >) 5C > jc > j.C > spml > jc > j.C > j.236CD > land > 214B > j.236D | 4745 | 9 | Intermediate | Both | 50 SP mortar loop combo, can be used to end rounds. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.2C > 236[A] > 222C > jc > j.C > Frenzy > j.236CD > land > 214C+D > 66 > land > 236236C+D > 214214C+D | 6323 | -100 | Hard | Shadow | Eats 75% of orgia, but deals massive damage to close rounds. |
Orgia Double Mode Change Combos
Because of her new speed and increased Orgia usage, most combos benefit from disabling Orgia mid combo. This allows you to recharge the Orgia gauge as you combo them, and re-enable it for the finishing blow.
Combo | Damage | SP+ | Difficulty | Form | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.C > 236CD > land > 22A > 214A > 2C > 22B > 236D | 3473 | -11 | Intermediate | Both | BnB double mode change combo. |

2AB > 66 > j.B > j.C > 5B > 236C > 22A > 5AA > 22B > j.C > 236D | 2446 | 20 | Intermediate | Shadow | Shadow Double Megido mode change meterless. Shadow Aigis gets all the cool stuff. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > j.C > 5B > hjc > j.C > spml > 236CD > land > 22A > 214A > 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236D | 3873 | -40 | Intermediate | Shadow | Shadow Double mode change SPML combo route. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.C > 236CD > land > 22A > 214B > 214A > 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236D | 4027 | -7 | Hard | Both | Double grounded mortar double mode change route, timing is rough but not impossible. |
2AB > 66 > j.B > 2A > 5C > jc > j.C > 236CD > land > 22A > 214B > 214A > 2C > 22B > jc > j.C > 236D > land > 214B > 214214A | 5104 | -57 | Hard | Both | Aigis 75 meter sweep route. Timing is precise and will require practice. |
Conclusion/Links
Here’s the link to the 2.5 Dustloop wiki Aigis combo page, https://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=P4U2.5/Aigis/Combos – [dustloop.com] , there’s videos of each of the combos discussed there. I also wrote that page, so that’s why so many of these combos come from there.
