Hello and welcome, We are going to tell you everything there is to know about Nautikin Adventures – How to Build a Boat Tutorial in this guide.
This guide provides a basic overview of boats, from how to build a basic boat to how it operates when it is deployed. This guide does not cover the build process, but that is covered in an existing guide.
How to build a boat
Once you have started a new game, you can build boats with the dry dock’s build system
Once you have gotten into the drydock, you can either create a new boat or modify an existing one. To function properly, boats require several things.
It is important to choose the type of hull or root portion you want your boat’s to use. Root parts are the foundation for the boat and will determine how it will float. Only hulls are allowed to be used as root parts. By default, only hulls have buoyancy. Other parts, such as Tires or Cubes, will not float by themselves but will contribute to the buoyant object (the ship). Any additional hulls added to the root will also be included in buoyancy calculations.
A few things are necessary for a vessel’s functionality.
- Minimum 1 hull
- Minimum 1 driver’s seat
- At least one fuel tank
- At least 1 engine
Note: Although you may be able to launch an incomplete vessel for testing purposes it will not function for steering functionality. This could be due to obvious reasons (e.g. a lack of a steering mechanism).
Center Of Mass (COM), which is a key indicator of buoyancy, is extremely important (marked by yellow sphere) . Your COM will shift from your pivot point depending on the material and mass of the components you choose. (marked by a blue circle) .
Operation of a boat
Once the boat is launched, you can now steer the boat and interact with it (such as anchors and sails).
To control the boat, consult the “Vessel” and “Ship” sections in “Controls->Keybindings” in the menu. This will allow for you to steer, throttle, and exit the boat quickly.
Notice: Disembark will automatically select a crew member who is available. If you don’t want that crew member, interaction mode can be used to specify the Nautikin to control.
Once you have disembarked, or are walking around (but not controlling the vessel), you can control an uncontrolled vessel using E or interaction mode.
This behavior will also be applicable to passenger seats
