How to Buy Your First Fishing Rod

This vending device will let you purchase your first-ever fishing pole when you first spawn.

This beginner fishing pole will cost you around 59 MK. However, depending on your luck it could be cheaper or more costly. In my case I was lucky and only had to pay 55MK.

Catching Your Fish

After casting your fishing rod in the spot, wait until you see the screen. Now tap E as fast as you can. Keep tapping it until the fish is caught.

Congratulations! You have just caught your very first fish.

Selling Your Fish

These ports are all good places to sell your fish.

To sell your catch, simply click on the fish icon in the menu of a vending device.

You can sell the fish to the green vending machines named the James General Store. They will buy any item from you at a reduced price.

Cooking Your Fish

You can cook your fish at campfires. I used it the most in the early stages of the game. Lake Outpost, which is prob the most frequented place on the entire map. Or by using a Gas Stove that can be found in crates or if someone recently sold one in James General Store you can pick it up there. You must first click on either the Campfire, or Gas Stove.

Next, you must put your fish on the menu.

If you are wondering what the point of cooking your fish is, the answer is obvious: to eat it. Eating will fill your energy bar on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Each fish will refill your energy differently. The rarer a fish is, the more it will do. To eat the fish you must go into your backpack, press TAB or whatever you have set it to and left click on the catch.

Make Your Fishing Faster/Better

Fishing hats can increase fishing speed up to 35%. They require a companion to wear.

Next up is the Telescopic Reel which will increase fishing speeds by 20%.

The Reel Of Fortune is next. This fishing pole will slow down your fishing by 15%, while preventing your fishing spot from being depleted.

Bait Buster, the last but certainly not least fishing rod, will increase your fishing speed by 50%.

For temporary items, we have a Pack Of Blackberries which will increase the chances of catching better fish for 250 seconds by 10%.

A Fisher’s Heaven

After completing 50% of your fishing compendium, you will be able to access the island known as “Koilot Island”. This milestone can be found by clicking tab then clicking the blue book in your inventory GUI.

Once you have reached the island, you can enter the gate by following the dirt pathway and opening the door.

OKAY! You’re now on the island, what can you do? Well, you get access to Kyrre’s equipment vending machine which sells useful fishing stuff such as Small Dinghy (a boat that is used to fish on the ocean), Pack Of Blackberries, or Telescopic reel.

You will also meet Sgt. Lake is a shop you can visit when completing your fishing compendium.
