Hi everyone, I’ll share with you 3 Kosmo builds I’ve been playing with. This guide is aim to help new players to spend TECs in what I think are the best upgrades to unlock first (eventually you’ll unlock them all) but also to get some feedback from veteran players and see if I can improve the builds, since I’m not a pro by any means.
If you like it and find it useful, let me know and I’ll make guides for the other 4 characters!

Whirlwind Meteorite (TIER 0)

UPGRADES:

Killsquad - Best Builds for Kosmo Guide + Upgrades + Tier List

• LVL 2, Twister (1 core): Whirlwind lasts longer (2 additional spins)

•LVL 4, Gravitational Attraction (2 cores): You pull enemies towards you (good synergy with stomp and whirlwind and the meteorites generated by Aftershock) and generates overshield by using Berserk Taunt.

• LVL 6, Protection Matrix (Ultimate): Since the LVL 10 upgrade in this build goes for whirlwind, you can choose either ultimate, depending on what you want (more damage or some defensive skill). Honestly, this build has a lot of damage with Aftershock and turbo Whirlwind, so for me, Matrix is a better fit.

•LVL 8, Aftershock (3 cores): After using Stomp, a meteorite falls from the sky and deals damage. It also affects Turbo Whirlwind and Charge. As for Charge, you can use this upgrade instead of Gravitational Attraction to have another meteorite, but honestly GA is much better in my opinion and it’s not worth to lose the overshield generation and not be able to pull enemies to you.

• LVL 10, Turbo Whirlwind (4 cores): Whirlwind lasts longer (3 additional spins, 5 in total in with Twister). You can reactivate the skill multiple times while you spin to slam the ground, dealing damage and (thanks to Aftershock) generating meteorites with every slam.

WEAPON PERKS:

Main perk depends on the elemental weapon you have. For this build the best one would be from a kinetic weapon: +60% damage reduction while performing Whirlwind. As for the 3 random perks:

• Upgraded Whirlwind: Whirlwind damage increased by 50% (must have)

• Whirlwind CD reduction: 2 seconds CD reduction

• 3rd perk could be anything of your choice, but what works for me best is (specially solo): Lifesucker (recover 200 life on kill), Unerring (+15% Crit Chance) which goes well with Unstoppable (+35% Crit damage)

TALISMANS:

Idol of Future Conquerors is a must have for me, you have your skills up almost all the time.

Pandora’s also a must have, meteorites help a lot (specially early game) and they synergized extremely well with idol, since it counts like skills kills and reduce your cooldowns. (and who doesn’t like a good meteorite rain)

SUPPORT GEAR:

• There’s not a must have for this piece of gear, you have a big pool of perks to choose, from extra life/armor/shield, damage increase for elemental weapons, extra overshield capacity (+65% overshield capacity), and more. It will depend on your playstyle and personal preference.

PROTOTYPE GEAR:

If you play solo (or in party but no one else have it because it doesn’t stack), a must have is:

• Tachys-349 (this is a prototype with the following main perk): enemies you kill give an extra +40% XP to you and the rest of the squad members.

It helps you to get to late game faster and be more powerful around mid contract. There’s another perk that adds +20% XP gain in top of the 40% (these 2 stack if they are in the same piece of gear), but I think it’s not really necessary.

Then, same as with Support gear, you have a big pool of perks to choose: extra loot chance, enemy speed reduction, mirrors damage received, extra credits from contracts, and more. It will depend on your playstyle and personal preference.

FINAL THOUGHTS: out of the 3 builds, this is the one with the most damage thanks to Aftershock, Turbo Whirlwind and both Talismans (meteorites everywhere), in addition to the 2 weapon perks mentioned: upgraded whirlwind and damage reduction when you spin.

Meteorite Stomp (TIER 1)

UPGRADES:

Killsquad - Best Builds for Kosmo Guide + Upgrades + Tier List

• LVL 2, Heavyweight (1 core): Stomp radius increase, but most important, it allows you to dodge when you use it and that’s just too good in a lot of situations.

•LVL 4, Gravitational Attraction (2 cores): You pull enemies towards you (good synergy with stomp and whirlwind and the meteorites generated by Aftershock) and generates overshield by using Berserk Taunt.

• LVL 6, Protection Matrix (Ultimate): With Aftershock, weapons perk and Pandora’s Hysteria, you have a lot of damage, so I prefer to have a defensive ability, specially with the lvl 10 upgrade.

•LVL 8, Aftershock (3 cores): After using stomp, a meteorite falls from the sky and deal damage. It also affects turbo whirlwind and charge. For this build, turbo whirlwind is not going to be used because weapon perks are not focus on that skill. As for charge, same reasoning as the whirlwind build.

• LVL 10, Emergency Matrix (4 cores): 5 seconds increase to the ult duration (meaning, 13 seconds of invulnerability), 20 sec CD reduction and a free revive every 300 seconds. 10/10 upgrade, just too good to not use it.

WEAPON PERKS:

Main perk depends on the elemental weapon you have, for this build it doesn’t really matter which one you have. As for the 3 random perks:

• Upgraded Stomp: Stomp damage increased by 40% (must have)

• 2nd and 3rd perk could be anything of your choice, but what works for me best is (specially solo): Lifesucker (recover 200 life on kill), Right here right now (+15% chance to lifesteal 50% of damage done by basic attacks), Unerring (+15% Crit Chance) which goes well with Unstoppable (+35% Crit damage)

Talismans:

Same as Whirlwind build

Support Gear:

Same as Whirlwind build

Prototype Gear:

Same as Whirlwind build, with the addition of the following perk that synergizes great with this build:

Enemy Damage Reduction: -30% attack damage to enemies hit by Kosmo’s Stomp during 5 seconds

Final thoughts: I find this build really fun and with a good amount of damage (a bit less than the whirlwind build) that allows you to solo anything, specially since you are constantly spamming skills thanks to idol of future conquerors.

Berserk Auto Attack (TIER 2)

UPGRADES:

Killsquad - Best Builds for Kosmo Guide + Upgrades + Tier List

• LVL 2, Heavyweight (1 core): Unchained Berserk (enemy speed reduction) should be a good fit for the taunt build, but honestly I don’t find it super useful, instead heavyweight allows you to dodge and that’s just too good in a lot of situations, as mentioned before.

•LVL 4, Gravitational Attraction (2 cores): You pull enemies towards you and generates overshield by using Berserk Taunt.

• LVL 6, Aerial Blast (Ultimate): Since this build lacks a bit of damage and specially aoe clear, aerial blast helps you deal with both.

•LVL 8, Burning Aura (3 cores): Increases the basic attack damage of kosmo and allies by 50%. Since this build is all about basic attacks, this one fits really well.

• LVL 10, Aerial Power (4 cores): When you use Aerial Blast, now you can deal damage while in the air until you hit the ground (you can usually slam 4-5 times, which means 3600-4500 more damage). Alternative upgrade here could be Aggressive Matrix (while kosmo’s overshield is above 80%, his basic attack damage is double) but honestly, its really really hard to keep your overshield that high when you are fighting.

WEAPON PERKS:

Main perk depends on the elemental weapon you have, for this build the best one would be from kinetic weapons: every 3 basic attacks, the next one will do 200% more damage. As for the 3 random perks:

• Noxious: +20% basic atack damage

• Upgraded Berserk Taunt: Berserk buff damage increased by 40%

• 3rd perk could be anything of your choice, but from experience (specially solo): Lifesucker (recover 200 life on kill) or Right here right now (+15% chance to lifesteal 50% of damage done by basic attacks)

TALISMANS:

Killsquad - Best Builds for Kosmo Guide + Upgrades + Tier List

For this particular build, Idol of Future Conquerors and Pandora’s Hysteria are not really good, since you rely on your basic attack and you don’t really use that much whirwind and stomp. Shield of Thorns and Armorer’s Safeguard are good replacements because you tank better, but feel free to use anything you like.

SUPPORT GEAR:

Must have for this build:

• Extra Berserk Duration: Berserk last 4 extra seconds

Then, same as the other builds, you have a big pool of perks to choose, from extra life/armor/shield, damage increase for elemental weapons, extra overshield capacity (+65% overshield capacity), and more. It will depend on your playstyle and personal preference.

PROTOTYPE GEAR:

Same as the other builds

FINAL THOUGHTS: although this build has good damage in 1v1, it’s not that high compared to the other 2 builds, and you lack AoE clear, which in this game is needed since enemies swarm you almost all the time. In theory I thought damage would be similar to the meteorites build, but it really falls short, and that’s the reason I think it is a TIER 2. (Note: you can definetly finish contracts with this build, but it will be harder than using one of the other two builds)

CONCLUSION

There’s probably one more possible build to make, which involves Overshield. As I barely mentioned, I had a hard time making it work since you basically need to keep your shield up above 80% to take advantage of the LVL 10 upgrade (Agressive Matrix). If someone managed to make it work, please let me know and I’ll test it and edit this guide to include it.

As I said before, anything you think needs to be changed just let me know and I’ll edit if needed, and if you like this guide and find it helpful I will happily do one for every character.

Thanks for your time and enjoy this beautiful game!
