This guide is for beginners. I will cover both simple high-damage combos and more complicated combos.

Welcome to my Jolyne guide JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Jolyne has a fun and fast play style. She can jump super high, parry, and has lots of Ora Ora.

This guide is written to be as easy as possible for beginners. It includes explanations of various moves and combos, as well as more complicated combinations.

You can skip the explanations and jump straight to the combinations by going to the Cheat Sheet section at bottom.

Guide to Notation and Button Guide

4 is left, 6 right, 2 down, 8 up, and 5 neutral.

This notation is not for those who have played Street Fighter or other non anime fighting games. However, once you get used it, it becomes very intuitive. A quarter circle forward input would be written in 236L.

  • L – Light Attack
  • M – Medium Attack
  • H – Heavy Attack
  • S – Stand on/off
  • A – Assist
  • HHA – Heart Heat Attack
  • GHA – Great Heat Attack

If j is used to indicate that an attack occurs while jumping, then jM refers to jumping medium attack.

Okay, now let’s get to Jolyne’s moves.

Heat Attacks

  • 236 L+M+H(all 3 attack buttons,)

Combos & Explanation

Easy Combo

ASBR’s easy combo system allows you to quickly pull off a combination by pressing 1 button repeatedly. The downside is that the combo version does less damage to your system than if you used the inputs normally.

The easy combination can be entered by typing L like this:


  • L> L> L> L> L> L

If you have 1 bar Heat Gauge, it will automatically add HHA to the end.

Jolyne has a simple combo that will do the trick if you want to do it right for more damage.


  • 5L >5M > 5H> 236H> HHA

It might not seem like much, but extra damage can make the difference between winning and losing.

This opener is often used in these combos so I will abbreviate. 5L > 5M > 5H As 5LMH starting now.

Take, for example: 5L >5M >5H >236H > HHA It is 5LMH > 236H

Let’s now use this basic combination as a base for some other fun combinations.

After the initial light, medium and heavy, we can squeeze a 6H and see what happens.

  • 5LMH > 236H

  • 5LMH > 6H > 236H

Add 6H to bring us from 168 to 182 damage.

Now that we have the 6H, let us swap out. This will allow us to combine into “What Angle is Best To Hit You From?” However, only the medium or light versions will land. This combo will result in an 182 Damage meterless combo.


  • 5LMH > 6H > 63214M

This is a great option, but it cannot be combined into HHA as the previous combo.

GHA requires 2 bars and is possible as part of this basic combination:

Assists

Once you have mastered Jolyne’s basic combo, there are a few things we can do to extend it.

Our assists can be used to do additional damage. However, Jotaro can perform Jolyne’s basic combo twice if we are careful.


  • 5LMH 236H > assist 5LMH 236H

This combo results in a 435 damage per unitless combination.

This is possible by delaying activating Jotaro’s assistance until Jolyne has connected her kicks. Star Platinum will be juggling your opponent so you can sprint forward and start another combo right before the assist ends.

This is demonstrated in action in the video below.

You can also use Giorno’s help, but I find Jotaro’s easier to chain out of.

You have a limited amount of assists per round, so keep that in your mind.

Stand Mode Combinations

Let’s now look at some more complex combinations:

As you may recall, Jolyne in stand mode can use a thread for pulling herself into the air. We’ll make use of this by combining air attacks and this combo.

These are 29 words, but you can also enter 19 if you prefer.

Stand ON


  • 5LMH > 29jH > 5LMH > 29jH > 2M > 623H

This causes 248 meterless of damage.

The timing of string jumps is very precise. You must not let go of the direction to perform the jumping attack.

You can also combine this with HHA to deal 312 damage.

Sophie, what if I don’t have a stand on to start the combo?

You’re the one reading this right now. Your stand can be activated in the middle a combo for half the price of a Heat Gauge.

After our initial LMH, we activate our Stand and are rewarded by a 264 damage combination.

We can also deactivate the stand in the middle a combo to disconnect Jolyne and Stone Free and move separately while our opponent gets Ora Ora’d
