How Do Blocking and Guarding Work in Lies of P?
So, you’re getting into the thick of things in Lies of P, and you’re wondering about the whole blocking and guarding deal, right? Well, you’re in the right place! Just pressing the block or guard button won’t make you invincible, and there’s a bit more to it. Let’s chat about what you need to know.
How Blocking and Guarding Actually Work in Lies of P
First off, in Lies of P, you might hear “blocking” and “guarding” thrown around. They pretty much mean the same thing, but the game leans more toward ‘guarding’. So here’s the lowdown: Imagine you’re in a heated battle, and you decide to guard against an incoming attack. Even if you’re guarding, you might still take a bit of damage. You’ll notice your health bar split into two parts, separated by a white line.
The left bit is your health, and the new part on the right? That’s what they call Guard Regain. If you chill out and do nothing, that Guard Regain will shrink down, leaving only your health bar. The cool thing? If you start laying the smackdown on your enemy, some of that Guard Regain comes back as health. But how much you get back can vary based on a few things, like your character’s stats.
One more thing to keep in mind about guarding: If you keep taking hits while you’re guarding, your stamina’s going to run low. And if you don’t do something about it, like, say, fighting back, you might find your guard getting broken by a particularly nasty hit from the baddies.
Want to avoid damage entirely? Then you’ve got to get good at Perfect Guarding. When someone’s about to land a punch (or whatever they’re throwing at you), you’ve got a few options:
- Guard that hit, then hit them back to regain some health.
- Try for a Perfect Guard and dodge the damage. But, heads up! If you mess it up, it’s going to hurt.
- Or, dodge out of the way, but it’s going to cost you some stamina.
Mastering Perfect Guarding is no walk in the park. If you’re not on point with it, you might find yourself in a bit of a pickle. But those are the basics of blocking and guarding in Lies of P. Now, go out there and give it a shot!
