Welcome. This Hogwarts Legacy – How to Fix Dark Scene Brightness Guide was written to be of use to you, and we genuinely hope that it is.

Do you find the night too bright and Lumos is a bit useless? The default setting of this game is too harsh for eye adaption. This simple fix in the ini file can improve dark scenes without requiring Reshade or other tools.

Screenshots of the intro and comparison

While walking around Hogwarts, I noticed it wasn’t too dark at night. The eye adaptation of the engine was highly aggressive and made lighting changes difficult to discern. This adjustment reduces the camera’s brightness in the game and brightens the image. It won’t alter the daytime scene.

Here are a few examples of night photography

Let me clarify: The camera is This is not always dark. . This is the darkest that you can find when entering dark areas

You can also alter the brightness settings to meet your individual preferences.

The change

Open Engine.ini

(Located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor)

Add the following section:

[SystemSettings]

r.EyeAdaptation.LensAttenuation=.3

This fix allows me to alter my current image calibration settings:

My monitor is the AW3423DW Peak 1000 mode.

HDR White Point: 1025

HDR Black Point:

HDR Brightness: 45

UI Brightness: 0.

If you do not like my settings, you can adjust the LensAttenuation or HDR brightness to meet your preferences. HDR brightness can be increased as LensAttenuation decreases.
