How to Enter Steam Deck Mode

Right click half life in your steam library
 
Enter Properties at the bottom
 
 

 
Go to where it says “Betas” and click beta
 
Then go BACK to General
 
 
In the prompt where it says “Launch Options” WITHIN GENERAL
 
 
Within the prompt type “-gamepadui”
 
 
This will enable the controller friendly mode for your Half life 2
