Disclaimer: In the event that you are so dense, you were added to a periodic table. That was a joke. I'm serious about making my own guide if necessary.

This guide will cover many points, which are divided into groups depending on how you progress.

*Levels in the groups were selected randomly by me to provide a better separation. They are based only on my experience.

Chosing a race

You are welcomed to the game's character creation. This is the most important decision of your life.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Chosing a race - 4B9FA7F

You are only making an aesthetic choice. Each race has its own tutorial area, each individual history (-level 30 – and some skills that are better than the ones you unlock with your classes.

After you have chosen your race, gender, class, and aspect, you will need to choose a class specific starting skin for a piece), your personality (, which does not affect anything), and your personal history).

Selecting a class

There are 9 classes total, but you can only select 8 (. The Heart of Thorns expansion) unlocks the last one.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Chosing a class - 2D38C04

Each class is divided into three types of armor: Medium, Heavy, and Light. These do not mean that heavy armor is more protected than light armor. They just indicate the type of equipment that can be used as armor. This doesn't affect the weapons you can use, as they are specific to a class.

This information is important for you to understand about each class. You can then choose the character you like most, or make additional characters.

Warrior: This is a heavy armor class. It is one of the strongest classes in the game. Warriors use melee (mosty and ranged weapons. Their special ability grants them one special attack, depending on which weapon they are using.

Warriors have both high Crowd control (Slows and Stuns…), buffs that include shouts, damage ability, and one of the most useful buffs available in the game, the banners.

Guardian: This is a heavy armor class. Guardians use melee and ranged weaponry, and their special ability grants passive buffs and active abilities that help you and those around you.

Guardians are able to provide support and healing, as well as a large number of utility blocks and condition removals. They also have good damage options and one the best condition damages in terms of burns.

Ranger: This is a medium armor class. Rangers can use melee and ranged weapon (almost all of which are ranged). Their special ability allows them to control Pets. There are many pets with different abilities and can be unlocked throughout the game.

The ranges are mainly specialized in dealing damage or giving buffs. The spirits are one of best buffs in the hole, and it also has a lot of Crowd Control

Engineer: Engineers are a medium armor class. Engineers have the smallest number of weapons, but they have a toolbelt that grants them special abilities depending on the abilities they have equipped. They also have "Kits", which are abilities that give them different weapons like a flamethrower.

Engineers are a middle-class class. They have CC, damage, and utility, but they aren’t as powerful as other classes. However, adding the turrets or kits makes them a class with lots more versatility.

Thief: Thieves are a medium armor class. They use melee and ranged weaponry, and their special ability allows them steal from enemies with a wide range and lots of movement abilities.

Thieves are able to deal high damage and have a wide range of cc capabilities. They also have the best mobility of any class. However, they can only maintain a permanent buff that invisibly but do not support other classes since most buffs affect you only.

Mesmer: This is a light armor class. Mesmers can use melee and ranged () weapons, and their special ability allows them spawn clones to fight with you.

Mesmers possess a lot of CC skills, great movement skills, and a very useful portal. They also have many utility skills.

Necromancer: This is a light armor class, and one of the strongest classes. Necromancers can use melee and ranged weaponry, and their special ability allows them enter a shroud that charges as they defeat enemies.

Necromancers have the ability to spawn minions that they can use in battles. They also have abilities that are based on condition damage that can spread to other people. It is a great class for both solo and multiplayer play.

Elementalist*: This is a light armor class. It's also one of the weakest classes. The Elementalist uses ranged weapons and has a special ability that allows them to tune to attune with one of four elements, Fire, Earth or Water. Each element changes the 5 attacks on weapons, making it the most complex class of the hole game.

As I mentioned, elementalists are the most complete classes in the game. In addition to the weapon attunements, they can also spawn elementals and weapons to aid them. They also have other utility skills and buffs that can be used.

*Elementalist is not recommended as a first class. It's cool, it works well and has many uses. However, I have heard from friends that they created one and then deleted it to make another. It's possible to try it and you might like it. However, Elementalist is a special class.

Personal History

The game's history is about 1/3 of the game's content. The game will guide you through it from the beginning. Each chapter can be unlocked at 10 levels. However, each character can only complete one chapter at a time because your choices matter (kinda)).

Each race has its own history up to level 30, where you can complete the plot and join the main forces to save Tyria.

Your personal history will change each time you make a decision, but it will end in the same way. If you have characters of the same race and did all combinations of characters, the history will change, but not in a meaningful way to your overall picture. So pick what you like and ignore the others.

First Maps

Another important aspect of the game is map completion. After the tutorial is over, you are given a huge world to explore. You can do 5 things in each zone:

Hearts are areas where you must complete objectives to fill them.

After completing all objectives in a given zone, you will receive a chest reward that includes materials, xp, and other items such as weapons.

After Tyria is explored to a 100 percent, you will receive 2 Gifts of Exploration that can be used to create legendary weapons.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - First Maps: - 6AD8383

NOTE: This will be a lot of work at the beginning. You will need to level up your character. Don't force it into getting the rewards. They are not that important except for the black lion keys. So don't get bored mapping.

Leveling up in the Early Game

Play the game and you will get xp for doing nothing other than breathing.

  • Killing mobs
  • Map Completion (All provides xp: vistas and hearts, hero points… + bonus for each zone completed)
  • Events
  • Gathering Materials

Map Completion, events, and killing mobs will make up the majority of your xp. You can also advance in your history missions. Leveling up early in the game is easy and you don't need to do anything.

Although gathering doesn't give you much xp, it can help you to get the best tools for your collection. You can simply collect any that are near or in your path and continue on.

Was it necessary to create a section in the guide for this purpose? I can, so why not?

Skill System

The Guild Wars 2 skill is built on Hero Points. These points can be earned by completing Hero points Challenges across Tyria. As some level up rewards, there are 612 hero point total. This is more than you need to play your core game. If you buy future expansions, you will have enough to purchase a portion of the Guild Wars 2 skill.

You can press H to open a panel called Training with the Hero point symbol. There are 2 parts: Skills and Specializations.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Skill System: - 25AD8CB

The Skills are the first. They are divided into 3 types: (Healing (is the first one you can unlock); Utility () is the middle one, and Elite (((. Some branches don't have an ultimate, such as the wells on necromancer). You have at all times equipped 1 healing skill + 3 utility skill + 1 ultimate skill in the hotbar. All other slots, except for the heal, are unlocked at level 1,1, 15, 19 and 31 respectively.

Then there are the Specializations. There are 6 branches that you can unlock, but you can only unlock 3 at a time.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Skill System: - 71BD23B

They can be used on the build panel located above the hero one. Each branch has 3 base passives you cannot change and 3 columns that only allow you to have 1 active at any given time. Each trait or passive can either give a passive buff to you or your profession skills, or both.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Skill System: - 8E79EB1

The first Specialization is available at level 21. The second at level 45, and the third at level 71. The third one is also where you can equip the Specializations from the expansions.

What does each stat do?

Stats are one of the most important aspects of the game. Each piece of equipment gives you stats (. You need to choose from a variety of options).

Equipment can give rise to 13 stats. They can be viewed on the right side of the equipment tab as attributes.

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Stats, what does each do: - 8C62744

There are three types of damage: Healing, Tankiness and Damage.

Damage:

There are 2 types of damage in Guild Wars 2

The first stat is Power (, or physical). This is based on direct impacts. This stat is affected by 3 stats: Power (red) which increases the base damage; precision (orange) which increases the critical change; and Ferocity (yellow) which increases the critical damage.

The second stat is Condition. It is calculated based on the damage you deal to enemies each second. This stat is affected by 2 stats: Condition damage (Darker) that increases base damage, expertise on light) that increases condition duration

Condi stats and power stats can both be seen to the left.

Tankiness:

Guild Wars 2 - Best Class + Adventure + Skills - Stats, what does each do: - 3AA260B

The final stats will be converted from the previous ones for all the stats except healing power and magic find.

It doesn't matter what stats are used when you first start, since you won't have to use any of the content. However, it's recommended that you use full power stats until you reach end game and then look for something more suitable.

Finally, in the achievement tab at the lower right, you will see the account bonuses

Account bonuses are stats that your account has earned by playing. There are four total stats: Gold find increases the number coins you get from enemy drops (. If you have a +10% gain in), karma gains gives you a +X% on the base amount of karma that you have. For example, an event giving 100 karma will give you 110 karma. XP gain works in the same way as magic find. It can be levelled up to 300 levels by eating "Luck" (. It's almost worthless). This account bonus comes from my main account, which includes all expansions and quite some playing.
