Quick guide featuring Winter mod and how to install it. Please note that I didn’t showcase any graphics mods (e.g. enb or texture packs) aside from the Winter mod so you’re free to experiment further.
1. Find your game folder.
— How: Right click on your game in Steam library, then select Properties – Local files – Browse
2. Download the GTA IV Snow Mod from www.gtagarage.com – https://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=5740
3. Install the mod.
— How: Open the archive and copy the files inside “Grand Theft Auto IV” folder to your game folder
— One major exception: DO NOT copy handling.dat if you want to keep the original vehicle behaviour on roads. Thing is that the mod changes it significantly and you may not like it.
— Note: You can choose between 3 versions of how slippery the roads feel inside common\data\materials. Choose one file and rename it to: materials.dat Remove other versions. I recommend staying with materials_v1.0.dat since it’s unchanged from original.
4. Download GTA IV Realistic Snowfall v1.5 from www.gtainside.com – https://www.gtainside.com/en/gta4/mods/55214-gta-iv-realistic-snowfall-v1-5/
5. Install the mod.
— How: Copy the files from the archive to your game folder
6. Let it snow in the game
— How: Dial 468 555 0100 on your in-game phone.
7. That’s it, bratan. You’re all set and good to go.
