Trading navmesh “visibility” checks for speed.
Great if you can’t really leave your PC crunching navmesh visibility.

What you have to do

Change “nav_max_view_distance” to a smaller value
( But above 3000!!!! )
This changes how far navmesh visibility is precalculated, two navareas further apart than this are assumed “not visible”.

Why not below 3000?

The default variable, 6000, is really generous. For reference this is 1/3 of the length of a “big” map.
Values between 6000 – 4000 still provide really, perfectly great information.
4000 – 3000 is cutting it close, but this will really save time on the generation, think on the scale of hours, to tens of minutes!
Any value below 3000 is CRIMINAL!
I’m not saying don’t do it, i can’t stop you! But the people who use your navmesh down the line might run into problems.
Really, the closer to 6000, the better, but nobody’s got time for that. Hope this helps!
