This is available in most cities and usually costs 200 shards. 
 
Completing the quest “Rat Problems” in Yellowport and returning to the sewers afterwards also lets you get a home for free.

This achievement is missable! 
 
Visit the temple of Nagil at the trading post to receive this quest, then explore the city. 
 
Note that finding the ghoul requires passing a Scouting check at difficulty 12. If you fail this check, the quest will fail and you will not be able to get the achievement. 
 

Cross-polination

Complete “In Service of the Druids” 
 
Visit the forest. Pass a Scouting check and a Charisma check to reach the City of Trees and accept the quest from the druids’ leader. 
 
Travel to the forest of Larun in Sokara and bring the staff to the leader. He’ll give you another item to bring back to the Isle of Druids. Do so to complete the quest. 
 

Pig-sticker

Complete “A Sacred Tusk” 
 
Visit the shrine to Lacuna at the trading post to receive this quest. 
 
Go to the coastal road. If you roll 9-12, you get attacked by a wereboar; defeat it, take the tusk and bring it back to the shrine.

Defeat the young rukhs. 
 
This achievement is missable! 
 
Once you’ve acquired the Mermaid’s Desire (see the section on Siren’s Call for instructions), sail to the coastal waters. You’ll be attacked by a rukh and taken to its nest. Fight and defeat its chicks. 
 
If you missed your chance at repairing the Mermaid’s Desire, you won’t be able to unlock this achievement as of version 0.12.4. This might change once book 5 is added and you become able to sail to Tigre Bay from Uttaku. 
 

Beam Me Up

 
Fabled Lands - Achievement Guide - Beam Me Up 
Climb over the Peaks at the Edge of the World and reach the Underworld. 
 
There are two ways to do this. 
 
1 – The ascent 
 
Make your way to the northern mountains, north-west of Yarimura. Investigate the cliff and climb all the way up, walk north, then climb all the way down on the other side. 
 
This involves a scouting check at a difficulty of 21, as well as the compulsory loss of 9 stamina; bringing climbing gear and a rope is highly recommended. 
 
2 – The path of the dead 
 
Become an initiate of Tambu in Yarimura. Then reach the gully in the centre of the Steppes. 
 
Make an offering at the Fane; offer any item with at least a +3 bonus. (+3 Armour is a good choice. You should already have better armour at this point.) You will get the title “Blessed of Tambu”. 
 
Then proceed to the staircase near the Pyramid of Xinoc. Climb all the way up. Thanks to your title, the dragon will let you pass to the Underworld. 
 

High Risk, High Reward

Raid the fortress on Bazalek Isle. 
 
Sail to the coastal water south-west of Yarimura. After a scouting check, you’ll discover Bazalek Isle. 
 
Avoid the cave. Swim (magic check) or cross the bridge (fight). A golem guarding the fortress will ask you to choose the correct password out of three. 
 
There are no clues to this; it’s just chance. The correct password is Glass. 
 
This will unlock the achievement. You can return to the fortress later from more loot. 
 

Indistinguishable From Magic

Acquire a gun. 
 
Sail to the coastal waters near Scorpion Bight. On a roll of 8 or 9, you find a bizarre “ship”, in which you discover a weird “spear” that shoots bullets. 
 

One Of a Kind

Learn more about the Mannekyn people. 
 
This achievement is missable! 
 
In Caran Baru, visit the slave market. You will get the chance to buy a Mannekyn creature. Do so and free it. 
 
(You only get one chance to do this. If you fail to buy it or free it on your first visit to the slave market, you will not be able to unlock the achievement.) 
 
Then reach Sky Mountain in the south-eastern Steppes. The Mannekyn people will welcome you after you freed one of them. 
 

Siren’s Call

Repair the Mermaid’s Desire. 
 
This achievement is missable! 
 
In the Great Steppes, make your way to Tigre Bay on the west coast. Explore and help the crew repair the ship. 
 
You only get one shot at this. If you refuse to help or miss one of the skill checks (charisma: 13; scouting: 14), you won’t be able to unlock this achievement, nor Air Miles
 

Stairway to Heaven

 
Fabled Lands - Achievement Guide - Stairway to Heaven 
Visit the Bazaar of the Golden Ones. 
 
This achievement is missable! 
 
This is a bit convoluted. First, you need to acquire some faery mead. Here are some possible locations. Note that none of these are repeatable, so if you missed your chance or lost the faery mead, you won’t be able to get the achievement. 

  • Sokara, Curstmoor. On your first visit, you’ll encounter a herd of horses. Mount one to be taken to goblins. A successful sanctity check gets you some faery mead. 
  • Great Steppes, eastern plains. If you roll 2-5, you’ll encounter a redcap, who has some faery mead. 
  • Great Steppes, river of destiny. If you roll 8-12 and pass a scouting check, you encounter a kelpie. Attack it and kill it to get some faery mead.

 
Then, you need to acquire a pathfinder’s gem. Go to the Gemstone hills in the Great Steppes. After a successful magic check, meet some goblins and give them the faerie mead. Explore the tunnels; after a few skill checks, you find the pathfinder’s gem. 
 
Finally, make your way to the wastelands in the northern Steppes (it looks like a floating tower on the map). Roll 8-12 to discover a tower, Thanks to the pathfinder’s gem, you can (finally!) access the Bazaar. 
 
Make sure to bring some shards, there are some really nice items for sale!
