A small warning: As suggested by the name, this guide can be scuffed lol.
 
I will try to explain most achievements in this guide. This guide is still in W.I.P. I was not able get all achievements, but i wanted to share the information with others so that more people can get these cool achievements.
 
Please note that this is my first guide. I have never created one. Please don't expect me to use apostrophes in my main language, English.

Story Achievements

This section will discuss achievements you can earn by simply playing the game. There are seven chapters in this game. Some achievements can be found in the middle or at the end.
 
Note: Because I can't remember exactly when you get an achievement, some of these may have a few questionable or erratic answers, but they will still be fairly accurate, hopefully.
 
 
Never Had It Anyway
 
 
Desc. : Relive the past.
 
!: Finish chapter 0, "Chapter Zero"
 
 
New Body, New Boots
 
 
Desc. : Fight to Nova Prospekt's extraction point.
 
! : You should reach the end of the chapter "Ashes" before you can start the "Holdout".
 
 
The Combine followed.
 
 
Desc. : Lead the Invasion of Arbeit Communication
 
! : After gaining a group from the Combine, make your way through Chapter 2. This achievement should be obtained after you have entered the secret laboratory.
 
 
My Evil Twin
 
 
Desc. : Meet the Miscreant Agency.
 
! : You will find a copy of you (Aka Copycop) at the end of Chapter 2. This achievement should be obtained when he drops your down the hole. Chapter 3 "Chamber Catacomb” will begin.
 
 
Low places are a friend
 
 
Desc. Meet Wilson.
 
! – At the beginning of Chapter 3, "Chamber Catacomb", there is a turret named "Wilson" that you will need to follow through the chapter. He will help you open doors.
 
 
Use a GUN to kill it
 
 
Desc. : Take out the giant man-eating monster.
 
! – Near the end Chapter 3, "Chamber Catacomb", the man-eating monster known as Gonome will be defeated. The difficulty you choose will greatly impact the difficulty of the fight.
 
There are health and ammo pickups at corners of every location.
 
 
Detour
 
 
Desc. : Escape the chamber catacomb below Arbeit 1.
 
! – Escape the underground facility in Chapter 3 "Chamber Catacomb" should be given to your somewhere before you begin Chapter 4.
 
 
Ghost Hunt
 
 
Desc. : On your way to work, enter the domain of Project
 
?: I don't know when exactly you get this. This is the area at the end of Chapter 4, "Venture Ghost", where 3 switches are needed to open a door and access a room.
 
 
On a Road
 
 
Desc. : Drive to Arbeit 2.
 
! – Reach the end Chapter 4, "Venture Ghost", and start Chapter 4a, "Exhumation Zone" (. I'm curious as to why the chapter is called 4a rather than 5.
 
 
Note: Chapter 4a, "Exhumation Zone", does not have any story achievements. I am not sure if i am missing anything or if there are legit story achievements for this chapter lol.
 
 
Custody Assistant
 
 
Desc. Capture Judith Mossman.
 
! : After fighting off the remaining Arbeit 3 Rebel defense, reach Judith. Escort Judith back with the Combines while fleeing from Copy-Cop, who wants to kill Judith Mossman.
 
 
The Project
 
 
Desc. It is there.
 
! : Before reaching the end of Chapter 6, "Chirality", a good view will be provided of the Borealis ship.
 
 
 

Enduring Achievements

This section will discuss all the Achievements you can achieve at the end Chapter 6 "Chirality". It is HIGHLY recommended that you make a manual save prior to interacting with the dying Copy Cop, as the auto-save function is very dum dum.
 
 
Beat Cop
 
 
Desc. : Complete the game at Normal difficulty or higher
 
! – Play the game from Chapter 0 until the very end on Normal difficulty. Ending doesn't matter.
 
?: I am certain that Chapter 6 will not be completed if you start on Normal difficulty. However, it is possible to be wrong.
 
 
Bad Cop
 
 
Desc. : Finish the game on Hard difficulty.
 
! – Play the game from Chapter 0 through the end on Hard difficulty. You will not get "Beat Cop" if you don't unlock it before you get "Bad Cop". Ending does not matter.
 
? : Like Beat Cop, you can be certain that starting Chapter 6 and playing it on Hard difficulty will not lead to the achievement.
 
 
Problem Soul
 
 
Desc. : Stop your predecessor.
 
! – Kill the dying Copy-Cop when he says so. You can kill him before he begins the talk, so you can skip the whole convo and still get the achievement.
 
 
Supposed Brothers
 
 
Desc. : Resist the temptation to pull the trigger.
 
! – Do not kill the dying Copy-Cop when you are talking to him. The Advisor will make him die in any way you choose, but you will be awarded an achievement for his death.
 
 
There will be darkness
 
 
Desc. : Cleanse the Slate.
 
! – After Copy-Cop's death, Advisor will give 3650 the option to become the "Master Template" and wipe out his entire memory. Advisor refuses to do it and 3650 refuses. Do not shoot the advisor if you are being held up. It will eventually lead to a short cutscene, then it will snap back at you, now without any recollection or the past. This will bring about the Bad Ending.
 
Note: The credits will not show the achievement due to an ending cutscene.
 
 
There will be pain
 
Desc. : Kill the Advisor.
 
! : Advisor will give 3650 the option of becoming the Master Template. 3650 refuse and Advisor forces them to do so. Shoot the Advisor with any gun if you are being held back by it. It will then force you to let go and start the final boss fight. QUICK SAVE OR MANUAL RECOMMENDED
 
To kill the Advisor, trick it into throwing the objects onto it. After a few throws (depending on difficulty, it will have its shield down. When that happens, start shooting it. It will eventually try to attack you. This can be a bit more difficult but not too bad.
 
After you have killed the Advisor, you will go towards the Borealis to witness the secret and achieve the Good ending(?)
 
Note: The credits will not show the achievement due to an ending cutscene.
 
 
Deliverance and Still Alive
 
Desc. 1: Bring Wilson to an upload station at the end.
 
Desc. 2: He is in the system.
 
! : The Deliverance achievement is very similar with the Gnome achievement in Half-Life 2 Episode 2. Instead of leaving Wilson behind at the end of Chapter 3, "Chamber Catacomb", take him with. You will need to carry Wilson all the way through the game. In some sections, you can leave him behind, but you will still have to go back. The radar tracks Wilson's position. Don't forget the Wilson Closets, which have most of the time supplies that can help you. You can place Wilson on top the APC in Chapter 4, "Venture Ghost". However, it will stop you from carrying supply crates (. Once you reach the end area, place Wilson in the machine that will allow him to control the systems and other things in the area.
 
Do the Advisor boss fight, and then the ending part. Everything will play as normal, except for the ending. This will give you the Best ending.
 
!!REMEMBER! Remember! If you don't, there is no way to load a load that still has Wilson (. You will have to go through Chapter 3 again. This should also be obvious: starting in any Chapter, via the new game button will not spawn Wilson.
 
Note: The credits will not end until you have completed the cutscene. This ending will award both the "There will be Pain" and "There will Be Pain" achievements.
 
 
 

"Collectibles", & Kills achievements

This section will show you how to obtain Achievements that focus on either finding "collectibles", or killing enemies.
 
 
Radio Recon
 
 
Desc. Work 1.
 
! is a search for 19 audio recordings. This one has a problem. I don't recall if there are any audio recordings other than Arbeit 1. To interact with an Audio recording simply press the interact button on radio-looking object with the green glow. You can count the recording's progress from the moment it starts. This means you don't have to listen to it all.
 
? – I don't know the exact locations of all these recordings. However, a large portion of them can be found in Chapter 3. These recordings were made by the Clone Cop.
 
 
Closet Clearer
 
 
Desc. : Open all the Wilson closets.
 
! : If you're carrying Wilson past Chapter 3, you will find some places where Wilson can be used to open doors. These "Wilson closets" contain a variety of supplies, most notably health and shields. There are 11 Closets total in the game. The last one is in Chapter 5, "Apprehension", just before you do a holdout to reach Judith. (YOU MUST LEAVE HIM AND COME BACK TO HIM TO OPEN IT)
 
? – Just like Radio Recon, I don't know the exact location of the closets. However, i recommend that Wilson be carried around a lot. When Wilson tells you to leave him there and pick him up later, it means you will return to him sooner or later so don't worry.
 
 
Worth the Weight
 
 
Desc. : Consume 10,000 KG of Xen grenades.
 
! : Use the Xen grenades to consume enough items and enemies to earn this achievement. If you use Xen grenades often, they can be very useful in certain situations, so you will eventually achieve this achievement.
 
 
Dirty Harry
 
 
Desc. : Use the 357 to kill 18 rebels
 
! : Use the revolver you got in Chapter 3 to kill 18 rebels. It's that simple. The problem is that it can be difficult to find ammo for the gun. Also, the revolver is a lot of damage on rebels. To my knowledge, vortigaunts are not considered rebels.
 
 
Rebar Huntsman
 
 
Desc. Crossbow: Kill 25 alien animals
 
! – Use the "Rebel Crossbow" to get around Chapter 4. Kill 25 Alien creatures with it. The challenge is similar to Dirty Harry. A large portion of the Xen creatures can survive two or more Crossbow shots. However, i am basing this on Hard difficulty.
 
? – I'm not 100% certain what game considers "Alien", as Zombies could count as Alien. However, i can't confirm this.
 
 
Temporal Troubles
 
 
Desc. : Find and kill all four instances of the Temporal crab.
 
! : You can encounter up to four enemies called Temporal crabs while playing the game. They resemble poisonous headcrabs but have a special texture and teleport quickly. They are also quite tanky. Chapter 4 introduces you to the temporal crabs by allowing you to have a "forced" encounter. After that you will need to search for them on your own. The Temporal Crabs are usually hidden in a supply container that is kept hidden away from view. Temporal Crabs in supply boxes can make sounds and move around, but it is unlikely that you will notice them immediately due to their location.
 
Note: Although you will encounter a Temporal crab in Chapter 3, it will not be defeated. It will simply disappear after a while. However, you can shoot it.
 
?: I believe each chapter post Chapter 3 has 1 Temporal Crab. However, I could be very wrong.
 
 
 

Miscellaneous Achievements

This section will discuss achievements that do not belong in any of the preceding sections. This section will not follow any timeline.
 
 
Cell Division
 
 
Desc. Reach the extraction point with four soldiers
 
! : During Chapter 1, you manage to reach the end of Chapter 1 with all four soldiers alive.
 
 
Science Team
 
 
Desc. : Five soldiers and you will reach the secret lab in Arbeit 1.
 
! : In Chapter 2, you must keep the 4 starting Combine soldiers alive. Use move command to your advantage. You might be wondering where you can find the fifth one. The wall at the top of the warehouse-like building can be exploded with S.L.A.M. You will find a badly wounded Combine soldier in it. Next, you need to find a spare gun which is on the table beside the wall you exploded. Once that's done, he'll join your group. Pull the lever to clear the rebels' warehouse and then take all five Soldiers into the transfer place thingy that leads to the secret laboratory.
 
? : This MAY have been an error on my part, but during my first playthrough on Normal difficulty Scar Zero (appeared. However, the rescuable Combine) didn't appear, and he appeared on Hard difficulty instead. I assume that Scar Zero is not available on Normal or lower difficulty.
 
 
Scar Zero
 
 
Desc. : Reunite With Scar Zero at Entropic Control.
 
! – Chapter 6 must be completed before you can reach the Ending part. After you rescue Scar Zero in Chapter 2 and bring him into the passageway to the secret laboratory, he SHOULD make a comeback at the final holdout as an additional ally with an SMG.
 
 
Interdependency
 
 
Desc. : Get your health from a surrendered doctor.
 
! : You can either kick the rebels or shoot the gun from their hands. Some even have a Crowbar as a backup weapon. You can press E on a rebel to make them lay down. Then press E again to make them stand. Standing near them will allow them to give you supplies. After that, it is up to you to decide what to do with them. This will allow you to heal yourself if you have less than 100 HP. However, it could be tricky because it is difficult to identify who is a medic from who.
 
 
There is no escape plan
 
 
Desc. : Neutralize Dr. Mossman's helicopter on the Arbeit3 helipad.
 
! : In Chapter 5, you will come across a Helipad with an Helicopter on it. To achieve the achievement, throw a Xen grenade at the Helicopter.
 
Be aware that the Helicopter can be a large object so the Xen Grenade can produce heavy enemies. These enemies are either Antlion Guards or Gonomes.
 
 
Please Knock
 
 
Desc. : Kick open 60 doors.
 
! : Use the kick feature to open 60 doors. It is important to note that repeatedly opening the same door will not count (. At least, it didn't for me). This achievement can be achieved in one playthrough, as the game has more than 60 doors.
 
 
There are now two!
 
 
Desc. : Kill both gonomes in Xentarium.
 
? – While I am not 100% certain what "Xentarium", it is the area in Chapter 4a where you must go through a Xen infested area, shut down portals, and turn on the railway system. There are 2 Gonomes you can encounter. Xen grenades don't count as killing them, oddly enough.
 
 
Far Distance Eyes
 
 
Desc. : Watch the secret temporal overlay in our monitoring room.
 
? : I don't know how to do this. Yes, i know WHERE the monitor room is. However, i don't know how to achieve this achievement. If I find the answer on my own, i will write it down.
 
 
Party Trick
 
 
Desc. : Kill a long jump rebel while they are still in mid-air.
 
! is the description, but it is not easy to achieve this. You need to be precise in your aim, but also ensure that the rebel is always jumping. Rebels have a tendency to give up on jumping and focus entirely on blind firing. You should also keep in mind that they can jump from a small height without dying.
 
 
Visitor Pass, Bootstrap Program, and Mirage Clearance
 
 
Desc. Desc.
 
! : Clicking on bonus maps in the menu brings up the option to play challenge maps. Here you will have to complete specific sections according to certain rules. There are a lot of challenges and each one has a ranking: bronze, silver, or gold. Visitor Pass requires bronze medals, Bootstrap Program requires silver medals, and Mirage Clearance requires gold medals. I haven't yet tried the challenges so I can't speak to them. (I have been mainly focused on the campaign stuff lol)
