Since there’s no guide available yet, I created one to show you how to find the player colors. This should be helpful to everyone.

Default Colors

The default colors are blue, orange and purple. Before you unlock the ember pit you cannot choose your colors, but you must use one that matches your position in player order.

The emberpit is unlocked after you unlock a player color.

Yellow

In Scoggfirth there are rooms that contain a mysterious waterfall. Blast Bombs will blow this waterfall open and reveal a cave. Enter the cavern to unlock the color.

Frosted

You will occasionally find a wall made of ice in the Steadfast Citadel that has the exact same strange markings on it as the waterfalls in Scoggfirth. The Ember Fire skill can be used to melt the wall of ice, revealing the hidden room. Enter this area to unlock the colour.

Pink

In Wightsbury there is a mausoleum with a door that bears a familiar mark. You can use the Warrior wisp (it does not matter how you summon it) to light the torches located near the mausoleum. You can then enter the mausoleum to unlock the color.

Electric

In Anville there are times when you come across a tesla-coil room and a locked door with the same markings used to indicate other hidden player colors. Use lightning (the judgement skill is the best option) to activate the tesla coils, causing the doors to open. You can then enter to unlock the colour.

Elder

It’s one of the simplest to unlock. You only need to attack Esper once or twice and he will hand it over.

Seasonal

A hidden snowman can be found in the room at the end the Steadfast Citadel where the care packages spawn. Attack the hidden snowman to reveal the color.

Nebula

Note: Because I don’t even know the name of the color, I made up a cool one. If you know what the real name is, please let me and I will update this.

This color will be unlocked when you defeat Praxis in Netherra.

Midnight & Daybreak

Note: Because I didn’t know the official name for these colors, I just made some names that I thought were cool. If you know what the official names are, please let me and I will update.

These colors will be unlocked when you complete the game on the doom mode and get the true ending.

Hellfire

Note: Because I don’t even know what the name is for this color, I just made one up. If you know what the real name is, please let me and I will update this.

This color can be unlocked after defeating Praxis when playing in endless mode.
