Wanna tackle DST’s baddies in a semi optimal order? No? You are still learning to even survive the wild? well tough!

Introduction

Think of this guide more as a suggestion than an actual guide, as you may be aware much in the same way that we have trouble fighting bosses there are some pro players with a YouTube video where they solo it on crazy conditions. As such when I suggest you get whatever-item, you can ignore it if you think you can handle it with whatever else you are comfortable using.

Basic Preparation

In terms of approaching a boss for the most part the staples would be listed below, there are bosses where you may want to switch it up.

  • Cook Pierogi.
  • Cook Cooked Cactus Flesh.
  • Make a Ham Bat.
  • Make a Football Helmet.

Deerclops

Spawn

Around the night of Day 30*.
*Default world conditions, refer to the wiki for the actual formula if interested.

Cheese

Before it spawns set camp either around a bunch of Tallbirds or Tentacles, Deerclops will help you farm materials until it either gets killed or is close enough for you to finish it at minimal risk.

Spider Queen

Spawn

Any Spider Den that has reached their Tier 3 Growth Stage can potentially become a Spider Queen if you hang around them from 60 to 120 seconds.

Cheese

Really the only complication this boss can have is the swarm of small spiders, make a bunch of Traps and drop them around your fight area.

Bearger

Spawn

Will show up around late Autumn as a passive mob, the annoying guy will destroy your stuff while raiding your chests and fridges so get it far away once you start hearing roaring and murder away.

Cheese

Get Pigs involved if you have trouble, but this guy is the perfect opportunity to learn how to kite if you have not, his attacks are ultra telegraphed by the huge arm swings he does before starting them, 2-3 attacks then falling back is usually all you need.

Bearger is also the perfect free labor so use it to cut down trees, kill Hounds, tentacles, or any other thing you want a hand with.

Work in Progress…

Unfortunately playing the game is like a million times more fun than writing about it, so you’ll have to forgive me if I am too busy messing around the actual game to finish this, I swear I am kinda vaguely working on it probably 🙂
