Are you new or just coming back to Destiny 2? Frustrated at how enemy teams melt the primevals when you haven’t even summoned one yet? Well this guide is for you!

Steps to follow

Destiny 2 - How to play Gambit in its current state - Steps to follow
1. Get a full team and assign one player to invade all the time

2. Use specific weapons in your loadout

3. At the start of the match try your best to allocate 2 players to get 15 motes each, (with the invading and another player help clearing ads). After banking them, the heavy ammo should have spawned and the invader can grab them and invade.

4. The 3 non-invading guardians should aim for 10-15 motes every time they bank. (If you have 13 or 14 motes, just grab a few more and make it a large blocker, don’t waste the motes)

Near the end of the match there are 2 possible outcomes, either your team gets the primeval first, or the enemy team does.

If you have the primeval first, kill the 2 envoys first, then damage the boss by blasting it with tractor cannon and then using swords to damage it until another 2 envoy spawns. After getting ‘primeval slayer x4’ use your supers to damage the boss and you should be able to win easily.

If the enemy team summons the primeval first, start depositing motes no as long as it can at least summon a small blocker, you DO NOT have to slowly collect the motes as the medium or large blockers do not matter. To add on, small blockers can sometimes shield the boss from attacks so it makes the enemy team’s job harder. The invader should attack whenever the portal opens to ensure the primeval doesn’t die. Your portal will open whenever the enemy primeval’s health is at 2/3 and 1/3.

An extra note for invaders, you can continue to keep your heavy loadout to prevent invaders from healing the primeval, but if your team is already losing, swap to swords to help them out.
