In my previous guide to how to play gambit, I left out some very important, new strategies that would not fit in this new guide. This is the gilded dredgen’s guide to playing this new and improved* game mode.

The Basics

Gambit is a game about collecting weird pyramids for your uncle that gets you the best christmas presents (but your parents don’t want you talking to him). Varying amounts of these weird a*s pyramids dictate what size  (blockers) you send to the enemy side.

5 motes is a small, 10 is a medium, 15 is a large — numbers between the intervals of five round down always. 9 motes is small, 14 is medium, etc.

You kill enemies to gain pyramids to send pyramid blocker ♥♥♥♥♥ a*s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the enemy side, and kill the ones on yours. Get to one hundred toblerones and you have yoursef a boss.

There are two kinds of bosses — The ones on the ground, and the meatball
More on the bosses later.

Kill the boss to win!

But. . .
You wanna know how to make it big on the frontier, don’t you? Fight dirtier than Zavala’s stank a*s armor he’s never taken off? Play more rancid than anything the drifter’s ever ate?
Then you’ve come to here, the Gilded Dredgen’s Declassified Gambit Survival Guide.

The Equipment.

Gambit feels like it’s impossible to find good randoms with, or something with randoms running proper items other than whatever bounties ask them to do that day.

If you want to lead randoms who look like what they’re doing could lead them to success, here’s what you need:
a kinetic of your choice
Divinity. (I know, I know.)
A sword of your choice, guillotine preferred.

if you do not have divinity, then the Tractor Cannon works about as good, or a hunter Void tether.

And most of all, you need the best piece of exotic armor for gambit –

Sect Of Insight Aeon Cult Exotic.
Finishing a small or medium blocker generates Special ammo, for your divinity, and finishing a large generates Heavy ammo, for your teammates running Lament or another damage per second heavy.

The Team.

Now that you have the loadout that can carry any group of randoms to success, you wanna assemble your friends, or some other dude who read this guide.

You want your team to be running the Aeon Cult with you, also with Sect of Insight, because using a finisher on blockers by yourself only generates ammo for your team – not necessarily you.

And you want them to have a special ammo weapon, since it will not run out of ammo fast, and a Damage Per Second heavy, or. .
The Invader’s Gun.

The Invader.

Are you a psychopath who only sweats PVP and doesn’t care about the mental health of others?

Invade.

There’s guide after guide of so many different weapons you can use for invading very effectively, but I say – Use an exotic heavy, and go to town, because your Aeon friends ideally would not have let you go try on bricks that day.

The Primeval.

BANK AND YOU’LL SUMMON A PRIMEVAL. YOU WANNA WIN? THAT’S HOW.

The guide itself seems to explain what weaponry you’ve wanted up until this point. What, did you think Divinity was only good for high value targets?

Damage over time Supers include, but are not limited to –

  • Silence and Squall (FOCUSING LENS)
  • Nova Bomb, Bottom Tree (Hunger)
  • Thundercrash + Cuirass (Code of the missile, Cuirass of the falling star, Middle tree.)
  • Well of Radiance (Damage and health, passive.)
