Objective

Repairing Generators

As a survivor your objective is to find andrepair 5 generators to power the exit gates and escape the trial.
To do this you must successfully hit a series of skill checks when repairing generators until completion.
Failing a skill check will result in -gen progression and potentially alerting the killer, so be careful.
If you do fail a skill check and you’re confident with chases, you can keep repairing that generator. Otherwise its best to find a new one to repair.
The most eficient way to repair generators is by splitting up and repairing on your own.
Dwight has a perk called Prove Thyselfthat can speed generator repairs up if there’s more than one of you repairing, but ideally you want to be split up to apply pressure around the map.

Locating Generators

You can find generators easily by looking around jungle gyms and looping spots.(were you see pallets)
Another tip is to look for the flashing lights above them to easier locate the generators.
On maps such as Gideon Meat Packing Plant they can be harder to locate, but if you look for big metal double doors you will find a gen there.
On Lerrys theyre often located along the outer corridors, in the center, the library area and in small rooms around that area.
Midwitch has generators in the classrooms with some spawning in the corridors and occasionally one can spawn in the court yard of the school.

Exit Gates

Once you and your team have powered the exit gates, its time to haul a*s and get outta there! But wait! Don’t be in a rush to fully open the gates.
When you do you start the end game collapse which is a timer that when it reaches zero everyone remaining in the trial will die to the entity.
You want to open the exit gates to 99% as this buys you and your team additional time incase one of you is trying to make their way to the gates, but gets caught.

Altruism

Dead by Daylight - Ultimate Survival Guide - Altruism

While playing Dead By Daylight you’ll often run into situations were you have to save your team mates from the hook.
To do this safely make sure the killer isnt nearby (listen for the heart beat aka Terror radius) and if its a stealth killer keep your eyes peeled.
If the killer is nearby and you hear the terror radius you can get a hook save using the Perk Borrowed Time from Bill, or you can unhook your team mate and take a hit to trade positions or take chase and have the killer focus on you.
Do not unhook your team mate while the killer is nearby without Borrowed Time and just let them be chased again while you hide.
The killer cannot find you so theyre forced to go after the person they can, and that’s not fun for the person being unhooked.

Healing Teammates

There are multiple healing perks and healing items in game that can speed up the healing process and allow you to heal multiple times. Perks such as We’ll Make Itallow you to heal 100% faster after unhooking someone, so it’s a good perk to use when healing under the hook providing the killer doesnt tend to return to the hook after a unhook has occured.
Claudette’s Botany Knowledge is a good all around healing perk to use as it heals 33% faster. It works great with Claudette’s other perk Self-Care so you can heal yourself much faster than you would with just Self-Care alone.
Its a good practice to heal your team mate, or yourself if you are dead on the hook, or if you’re facing killers such as Spirit, Oni, Nurse, Ghost Face, Pig, Wraith, or any other stealth killers.
Always heal when possible if you need to go in for a hook save, Unless you dont mind trading hook states for your team mate.

Looping

Dead by Daylight - Ultimate Survival Guide - Looping

When you are being chased by the killer you will be able to loop them to buy your teammates time to repair generators and hopefully all can escape.
To loop, you run to an area that has a pallet and run around it until you’re about to get hit, and then you throw the pallet down. Do not pallet camp
It’s a good idea to only throw the pallet if you’re about to get hit and you’re already injured because pallets are a limited resource and you dont want to reach mid-to- late game, end up in a chase and have no pallets left for you or your team mates. It’s a sure fire way to not survive.
If you’re able to, try and make use of windows when possible so you can also preserve pallets.
Also: Try not to create dead zones when looping, take a hit and leave that zone and go to another.
To help you become familiar with looping tiles and jungle gyms in the game, Kate Denson has a great perk called Windows Of Opportunity which shows you auras of windows and pallets quickly allowing you to identify the tile mid chase and plan your pathing accordingly.

Below is an image that shows you the optimal way you want to be running common loops and tiles
