A Second of your Time
Hello, My name is Gothic Lemons, and this is my first DBD guide. So, if you enjoyed it, please like or favorite it, it would help me quite a bit, thank you.
The Basics
Leatherface is largely a M1 Killer, with his power “Bubba’s Chainsaw” allowing you to easily achieve early downs. Bubba’s Chainsaw has three charges that last two seconds each and can be chained together for a six second chainsaw sweep. While Leatherface often has the potential to snowball out of control easily due to his power, his lack of mobility can make traversing the map a Pain.
Pros of playing Leatherface
+Easy Downs
+Snowball Potential
+Quick Chases
+Aggressive, simple playstyle
+Unsafe pallets easily mindgamed
Cons of playing Leatherface
-No map mobility
-Jungle Gyms/Shack/Certain Window Vaults you may have to M1 at
-Can be boring to play for a long time
-Chase/M1 killer
The Perks
Leatherface has three perks,Barbecue and Chili, Knock Out, and Franklin’s Demise.
Barbecue and Chiliis a well known perk, and doesn’t need too much describing, when you hook an individual survivor you get +25% bonus bloodpoints for the match as well as being able to see survivors 40+ Meters from the hook. This perk can be countered however by hiding in a locker or positioning yourself cleverly behind a gen. Hook all four survivors once? Now you have a free Bloody Party Streamer.
Franklin’s Demise isn’t exactly used as a mainstay perk, however it is an amazing perk to bring when you notice survivors carrying Keys, Flashlights, or any item you don’t really like. If you suspect a bully squad, equip this and lightborn and laugh as all their attempts to get you to rage fail.
Knock Out is a fun perk, however, it is not a good perk.. In the older days of DBD I might have said this would be good, but only if you like making survivors miserable. Due to the prevalence of slugging in high ranks anyways, I wouldn’t recommend bringing this due to unbreakable. Another thing, the aura blindness is countered by SWF on comms.
The Playstyle
Thankfully, this section won’t need much writing, as Leatherface has a very easy to learn playstyle. In the older days, Bubba wasn’t as oppressive due to the fact you needed to be right up a survivors behind in order to achieve a 1-Hit Down, and so Hillbilly was usually the preferred killer. Nowadays, Bubba can actually be quite oppressive.
When you spawn into a match, you simply want to head to the farthest Gen from your spawn keeping an eye out for survivors, when you spot one, you can initiate your first charge from about 10m away and still get a down if you catch them in the open. At window loops however, you should still try and hug their behinds. Bubba is nothing without his chainsaw, and his chainsaw is nothing without him. Cocky Survivors will try to abuse this fact however by taking you to the killer shack or jungle gyms, and without the right perks you’ll be forced to M1 them, with practice, you will know when you can chainsaw and when you have to M1. With even more practice, you will get the charge timing down just right to abuse it to the best of your ability.
Bubba is very much a “Pick up and Play” Killer, and doesn’t require much practice to become a decent Leatherface.
Quick Tip: Abusing the Tantrum
A small tip for Leatherfaces going against survivors at loops with lockers in them, sometimes they will hop in them, wait for you to stop your sweep, hop out and now you have one charge (Remember, two seconds) to get that one hit down.
Instead of letting survivors do this, ram your big ol’ face into the locker, the tantrum will last 5-8 seconds depending on how many charges you have used, and the timing to get out of the locker scott-free is not something many survivors are used too, if they mess up the timing, its a free down.
