Go to steam folder either in your program files(x86) or the other drives. Under steam find userdata then click the number which your steam account you using then 730 then local then double click the cfg. ex. program files(x86)\steam\userdata\78949849494\730\local\cfg
Edit the cfg file. Find the rate using ctrl f then typing rate.
Below is a list of numbers which should help you easily find the best rate for your internet.
4.0 Mbps – rate 500000
4.5 Mbps – rate 562500
5.0 Mbps – rate 625000
5.5 Mbps – rate 687500
6.0 Mbps – rate 750000
New max – rate 786432
You will notice that the South African network is actually not bad in this case. If you have a 4.5 Mbps line then you can set your rates to the value of 4 Mbps.
For those on a connection of 8Mbps or higher download rate then you can simply just set it you the max Mbps rate of 786432.
MatchMaking and Valve Servers are all 64tick, however most community hosted servers are 128tick, pro’s also play on 128tick servers.
