(Chimeraland – Basic Farming and Seedling Guide) This guide will try to cover every aspect of farming. I’ll go over the Seedlings process, how to combine/obtain rare seedlings, and where to get the materials you’ll need to get your field through each stage of development.
Please leave a comment below if I missed anything or if you have any suggestions, and I will update or modify the guide as necessary.
1 – : The Base
Once you can build your base in Spirit Orb Research, many upgrades are available in the Base Column. The Core Pylon, which allows you to build your base in the First Place, is the most important.
The field will allow you to upgrade your Farmplots to a higher Tier (. More information in a later chapter.). Base Virtuoso will expand the base by one field in all four directions. This will allow you more Farmplots and more Building slots.
Your Farmplots will be more fertile the higher they are. This means that you will need to water them less often. (Despite it being absurd, Ingame rain doesn’t water your farmplots.
You should know that everything you place in your base will take up one point. This includes irrigation sprinklers, the dance pole, and even plants. If you have too many farm plots, you won’t be able to plant anything.
2 – : Farmplots & Planters
You have 6 levels of Farmplots to choose from, ranging in Level 1 to 6.
Most plants can be planted on any Farmplot. However, you will need to water them more often if you plant a High-Level plant on a low-level Farmplot.
(See Fertilizing below). (See Fertilizing under)
The Level 1 Farmplot, your first and only plot available, requires 8 Clay, 8 Mixed ore, and 50 Phosphorous.
No matter what level of Farmplot you wish to craft, the first step is to craft Level 1. Then, upgrade it with Wood Essence of the appropriate grade.
Grade/Level | Color | Max Fertility |
---|---|---|
Lv 1 | Grey | 3000 |
Lv 2 | Green | 6000 |
Lv 3 | Blue | 12.000 |
Lv 4 | Purple | 20.000 |
Lv 5 | Orange | 30.000 |
Lv 6 | Red | 50.000 |
To upgrade your Level 1 plot from Level 1 to Level 2, you will need to use 3 Mixed Wood essences and one Level 1 plot.
Wood Genios and Wood Essences can be obtained by harvesting your grown plants on your plot. The Essences and Genios you get depend on the Plant and Farmplot they are planted on.
The Ingame description may seem a little confusing to some, so let me explain it for you:
To determine which Essences you receive, the Game will always use your lowest Level. For example, if you plant a Blue Lv3 Saffros Sapling in a Green Lv2 field, the highest Essence that you will receive is the Green Common Wood Essence.
You will only get the best Green Common Wood Essence if you plant a Green Lv2 Jobs’ Tear’s Sapling onto a Blue Lv3 field.
Wood Genios can only be obtained at Level 3 and up, with very low chances of acquiring them. To have any chance of getting them, you must place at least one Lv 3 Blue Crop in a Lv3 Blue Farmplot.
This means you will need the patience to upgrade your Farmplots or money to purchase the Essences and Genios from the Auction House.
Planters
You can also add five Planters to your base. Your Planters are different from your Farmplots because they don’t require Fertilization. They will grow your plants to full Growth. Your plants will bear less fruit in a planter than on a farmplot.
There are three types of planters: Aquatic, Tree, and Herb/Vegetable.
The Square Planter allows you to place any vegetable, herb, or flower in it.
The Stone Planter does the same thing but adds more home points.
The Aqua Planter and the Pottery Jar can grow aquatic plants like Lotus. You can also buy Purple Stone in your Homeshop. (I don’t know of any other aquatic Plants/Flowers at the moment)
Finally, the Wooden Planter lets you plant and cultivate a Tree Sapling.
3 – : Fertilizing
Fertilizing your plots and plants can be done in many ways. Fertilizing your plots costs is mandatory while Fertilizing plants costs you time and speeds up the process until the Plant is ready for harvest.
- Fertilize tells you how often you can apply a Fertilizer to them.
- Harvest shows you how long it takes for the Plant to be harvested.
- Protection Time tells you how long your Plants remain protected. Once this timer runs out, others can harvest your plants.
- Fertilization time shows you how long you have until the Plant disappears. This will also re-fertilize the Field by a certain amount. You lose any seeds or produce.
You can choose which type of Fertilizer to use. The easiest would be either Dew (Middle) or Plant Ash (Top Left. Both are easily obtained from the plants you harvest from your Farmplot.
You can make Plant Ash in Bulk using Fiber or Parasitic grass. Each application of Dew or Plant Ash will increase Fertilization by 500 points on your Farmplot. However, it only counts for 1 Fertilization if it is used on Plants.
To fertilize your Farmplot, I recommend using either Ash or Dew.
Plot Lv | Max Fertility | # of Ash/Dew to maximum Fertility |
---|---|---|
Lv 1 | 3000 | 6 |
Lv 2 | 6000 | 12 |
Lv 3 | 12.000 | 24 |
Lv 4 | 20.000 | 40 |
Lv 5 | 30.000 | 60 |
Lv 6 | 50.000 | 100 |
Although it sounds like a lot, the Lv4 Plot has enough capacity to grow Lv6 Seedlings fully without re-fertilizing the plot.
Irrigation Sprinklers and Irrigation Devices
You might have unlocked irrigation sprinklers or the irrigation device if you have advanced enough in the game. Since this will be the first item you unlock, we’ll start with the Irrigation sprinkler.
Level 1 sprinklers require a lot of cloth and crystal, which can only be found in the ocean or near it.
It must be placed on one of your Farm plots. It will cover a 3×3 field, excluding the Plot on which it stands.
The Lv 2 irrigation device will cost you more materials to upgrade to, but it adds another Tile of Radius, which allows it to fertilize 24 plots on a 5×5 field.
It requires Timber, which can be crafted from Cane and Star Stone. You can only get this rare material if you have a flying mount or a friend who can fly you up to gather it.
Here’s a Youtube video showing you how to get Star Stone. (Note: This video is not by me.
The Irrigation device can be used as an equipable item. Only use Plant Ash. It acts like a gun and will consume the appropriate amount of Plant Ash from your inventory if it hits a Farmplot not at maximum Fertility.
The Device is the best choice if you don’t want Farmplots to be wasted with Irrigation sprinklers. This device will require more manual labor but maximize field gatherings.
4 – : The Plants
Sometimes, you can purchase Seedlings.
plants in the Wild
You can purchase them in your Home Shop or combine Seedlings to get higher-grade Seedlings.
Plants have levels, just like Farm plots. The levels are just as crucial as Farmplots, if not more so.
It is easy to gather seedlings, but it takes some time. You will need to purchase Seedlings and other Currencies (Inkblack/Purple Stone. Combining them takes a little more explanation.
First, you must unlock the combination to combine them.
Cultivator for your Arcane tree
Your Spirit Orb. After placing your Cultivator in the desired location, click the ‘Seeds Option,’ and you will be taken to the Interface.
Quick explanation: The top left shows your crafting queue, the bottom left shows the Seeds that you’ll combine, while the right side shows your Seeds, both in your Backpack and your Storages. (Sometimes separate stacks can be annoying, sometimes)
COMBINATION IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ALL SEEDS
However, most of Lv 1 Seedlings purchased from your Home Shop are Melon, Gourd Bok Choy Cauliflower, Sweet Potato, and Bok Choy.
Combining and Upgrading Seedlings
As I mentioned, it can be confusing to figure this out independently. Here are the details.
There are 4 Seed Slots available for combination. Combining your seedlings will add up their levels and produce one random seedling of the highest level.
Slot 1 | Slot 2 | Slot 3 | Slot 4 | Result |
---|---|---|---|---|
Lv 1 | Lv 1 | X | X | 1x Lv 2 |
Lv 1 | Lv 1 | Lv 1 | Lv 1 | 2x Lv 2 |
Lv 1 | Lv 2 | X | X | 1x Lv 3 |
Lv 2 | Lv 2 | Lv 1 | X | 1x Lv 5 |
Lv 1 | Lv 2 | Lv 2 | Lv 3 | 1x Lv Rnd |
It is quite linear, as you can see. You can choose which seeds you will get, and then farm to specific levels of the seeds.
However,
If you use all four slots, with different levels of Plants each time, the Result will be random between all eligible Seeds.
All seeds acquired through the Cultivator can be used in further combining.
Some seeds (I know of the Grand Tree Sapling) require placement on a certain level of your Farmplot.
Happy Farming, everyone! c:
