This guide will provide a basic explanation of why the game often crashes during the DMV during the non-skippable introduction and how I could fix it on my laptop.

Prelude

Burnout Paradise Remastered is the game you should have purchased If you’re similar to me. The original game was taken away.

You’ll need to sign up for an EA account before you are able to play the game. This will continue to be required each time you play the game. It will start EA Play, which is a great thing.

Once you’ve completed this, you can start the game and play for about 7 minutes playing boring intros and scenes.

After I had completed the intro, which I was unable to skip I was taken to the DMV. My game was crashing. I tried every tutorial. It’s fantastic that the game that’s been available for five years by an AAA publisher has an issue.

After almost losing all hope, I came across an easy, simple solution that could work for you too.

It is important to note that I am using an Acer Nitro 5 Laptop so that the procedure may be different for you. However, it is likely to be the same for all laptops.

The game crashes when trying to use your camera on your front to take a picture to get the permit.

The Solution

What do you need to do to fix it?

1. If you are prompted, visit the device manager and allow administrator access.

2. Search for “Camera”, “Imaging”, or “Camera” in the dropdown menu.

3. Find the camera in front of you and turn it off.

4. If needed, restart the computer and then launch the game again.

If this method doesn’t work, and you’ve tried every other solution I suggest you return the game… I hope this method worked for you.
