Been looking for a sun shard for five hours and still can’t find it?
Want to spend as little time as possible playing as Nilbous Flann?
This guide has got you covered!
Unique Items
Those are the rewards you get from completing stories. Kromn’s, Scarlet’s, Wodania’s and Tek’ka’s stories give you the material you need to craft the item, but not the item itself.
About Stories
The game tells you where you need to go to progress a character’s story with an exclamation point in the dungeon select.
You can also see where you need to go by checking the character’s journal.
The chapters you have completed are the ones highlighted.
This Creen has chapters 1 to 3 completed and is now on chapter 4.
To achieve conclusion you need to complete the character’s goal.
To receive your story reward you do NOT need the conclusion, you only need the 5 chapters.
This guide won’t help you with doing every step of every story since most of the chapters are pretty straightforward, only needing to win the specific dungeon to complete them. Instead, this guide is here to help you so you don’t miss story triggers that players might walk past without noticing or to give clarity on the why you aren’t achieving progress in a character story.
Creen
I’ve seen players completing Creen’s story first try, while others can’t get the elite blood magus needed for story progression to spawn and have to try multiple times.
Here’s Blood Magus T’kaat’s locations. If while playing the specific chapter you don’t find him there, then you need to restart the dungeon (by wiping, going back to refuge or dungeon victory) to try and get him to spawn.
You need to win the dungeon after defeating T’kaat in order to progress the story.
Chapter 1 – Answering the Call
Chapter 2 – Khuliath, the Mountain Giant
Chapter 3 – Answering the Call
Chapter 4 – Khuliath, the Mountain Giant
Chapter 5 – Hemomancer
T’kaat will replace Hemog as the dungeon’s final boss.
Kromn
Those are the sun shard locations. If while playing the specific dungeon you don’t find them there, then you need to restart the dungeon (by wiping, going back to refuge or dungeon victory) to try and get the shard to spawn.
You can return to refuge or wipe after the dialogue from collecting the shard ends, you’ll still progress your story and receive the sun shard.
Creeping Blight
Darkness Embrace
Hemomancer
Answering the Call
Khuliath, the Mountain Giant
Karrogh
This storyline consists of finding and killing the especial elite enemy related to the story. In chapter 5 you’ll need to get the correct doors to open in Underhold Depths in order to complete the story.
To change which doors are open you’ll need to restart the dungeon by party wiping, returning to refuge or dungeon victory.
You need to win the dungeon after killing the elite enemy in order to progress the story.
Chapter 5 – Underhold Depths
Ezzouhn
In Ezzouhn’s chapters 1 and 5 you’ll need to interact with a Nilbous NPC.
You can wipe after speaking to Nilbous in both chapters and you’ll still progress the story and unlock Nilbous.
In those chapters you can return to refuge after the dialogue and you’ll still progress the story, but I must warn that if you return to refuge after the dialogue in chapter 5 you will NOT unlock Nilbous, making so you have to play and finish another match as Ezzouhn to unlock him.
Chapter 1 and 5 – Hemomancer
Scarlet
In Scarlet’s chapter 4 you’ll need to interact with a prompt located at Ronan’s Crypt in Darkness Embrace. Since DE is a nonlinear dungeon, its possible for one to go through it without stumbling upon the needed prompt necessary for progression.
You need to win the dungeon after interacting with the urn to achieve story progression.
Chapter 4 – Darkness Embrace
Seirinne
Seirinne’s chapters 3 and 5 have prompts that you need to interact with.
You need to win the dungeon after interacting with the poison vial to progress the story.
You can wipe after the dialogue with Bu ends and you’ll progress the story and unlock Bu, if you return to refuge after the dialogue you’ll still progress the story but Bu will NOT be unlocked, making so you’ll have to play and finish another match as Seirinne to unlock Bu.
Chapter 3 – Darkness Embrace
Chapter 5 – Khuliath, the Mountain Giant
Bu
You can wipe or return to refuge after the dialogue with Seirinne ends at chapter 1 and you’ll still progress the story. With all the other prompts, including the second Seirinne encounter at chapter 5, you’ll need to win the dungeon to progress the story.
Chapter 1 and 5 – Answering the Call
Chapter 2 – For Whom the Bell Tolls
Chapter 3 or 4 – Darkness Embrace
Chapter 3 or 4 – The Descent
Mouse
All but one of Mouse’s prompts are right at the start of dungeons, you can wipe or return to refuge after the dialogue and still achieve story progression. This makes Mouse’s story the fastest to complete.
Darkness Embrace
Dark Ritual
Creeping Blight
Khuliath, the Mountain Giant
Answering the Call
Wodania
For Wodania, only chapter 1 has a prompt. You can wipe or return to refuge after the dialogue and you’ll still progress the story. Be warned that if you return to refuge you’ll need to play and finish another match as Wodania to unlock Karrogh.
Chapter 1 – Answering the Call
Korrus
All of Korrus’ chapters have a urn you have to interact with. You still need to win the dungeons after interacting with the urns.
Dark Ritual
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Hemomancer
Answering the Call
The Descent
Nilbous
This storyline is a bit weird in the sense that it spawns some objects that can’t be interacted with, but that you still need to move close to in order to progress the story. In chapter 5 you’ll need to get the correct doors to open in Underhold Depths to be able to complete the chapter.
To change which doors are open you’ll need to restart the dungeon by wiping, returning to refuge or dungeon victory.
You still need to win the dungeon after interacting with the prompt to achieve story progression.
Chapter 5 – Underhold Depths
Tek’ka
Here’s the blight crystals locations. If while playing the specific dungeon you don’t find them there, then you need to restart the dungeon (by wiping, going back to refuge or dungeon victory) to try and get the crystal to spawn.
You can return to refuge or wipe after the dialogue from collecting the crystal ends, you’ll still progress your story and receive the blight crystal.
