Baldur’s Gate III – Crack the Code: Breaking Cracked Walls

So, you’re running around in Baldur’s Gate 3, right? And you’re having a blast smacking goblins left and right – it’s a good day. But then you run into these pesky cracked walls that are harder to bust through than a rock golem’s abs. Monsters are one thing, but walls? They’ve got this annoying resistance that’s no joke. But hey, breaking these walls can unlock awesome side quests and new story arcs, so let’s figure out how to knock ’em down, shall we?

Baldur’s Gate 3: Methods for Breaking Cracked Walls

First thing’s first, there’s more than one way to crush a wall in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  1. Go all medieval with Bludgeoning weapons.
  2. Get fancy and use Radiant Element or Force Spells.

You can go the direct route – grab a weapon and give that wall a taste of your fury. Think Club variations, Hammers, Maces, Mauls, you get the drill. Don’t be surprised if the wall doesn’t crumble like a cookie after the first swing though. Maybe you’re using the wrong type of weapon or your weapon’s level is just not up there yet. But keep at it, and after around 5-6 hits of bludgeoning damage, that wall should be history.

If your crew is more into the magic stuff, Radiant Element or Force Spells will do wonders. Got a spell like Guiding Bolt, Branding Smite, or Sacred Flame? Great, you’ve got your Radiant damage right there. Eldritch Blast or Magic Missile spells can bring the Force damage you need. But keep in mind, it might take a few extra spells to do the job, and don’t forget, casting spells uses up a Spell Slot.

Determining an Obstacle’s Resistance

Now, listen up. Cracked walls aren’t the only things standing in your way in this game. But don’t worry, there’s a simple trick to figure out how to beat them. Walk up to the obstacle, interact, and select Examine. Boom! You’ve got info on the resistance of that cracked wall or whatever obstacle you’re dealing with. You won’t know the exact weakness, but a bit of trial and error will get you there. Plus, the Examine option gives you a peek into the obstacle’s current strength, so you can count down the hits till your victory dance.
