Disable Steam Input

Right-click the game in the library and select Properties.

Controller -> Override for Baldur’s Gate -> Disable Steam Input

What is the difference?

When using your gamepad directly, Steam tries to handle it similarly to a Steam controller, mimicking functions to access Big Picture mode easily.
