This is how to do the job

Start the Game and create a Multiplayer Session via LAN.

Start another instance of a game by directly using the executable.

Right-click in the game’s Steam Library entry -> Manage -> Browse locally files

Enter the subfolder Bin (trivia, that is shorthand binary)

Double-click (or Enter) bg3_dx11.exe OR choose bg3.exe.

You can run as many instances you need to complete this task. Baldur’s Gate is compatible with up to four Baldur’s Gates, as long as your computer can handle it.

Join the LAN by using the other session

Once you’ve set each additional session to Ready, launch it from the host. Now you will proceed to the creation of each custom character. You can recognize your host character based on its ability at the bottom left to kick out any other instance.

With the game having successfully started, and all extra additional custom characters are accounted for in game, close all non-host-instances, and Leave only the first host-instance (game) open .

Then, save the game as you would any single-player game on your host instance.
