Strategies

Imposter Guide
The imposter(s) will win when crews cannot outvote the imposters, which means the number of surviving crews is not greater than the number of surviving imposters.

In a 3-imposters game, the imposters should always stick together. The first objective is to secure a triple kill, bring down the surviving crew members down to 4. Even if one imposter is voted out right after the triple kill, the remaining 2 imposters can perform a double kill and secure the victory.

In a 1-imposter or 2-imposters game, there are a lot more tactics that can be performed. Here’s the list of strategies:

1. Stack kill using blackout.
– Sabotage the lights and follow everyone to fix the lights.
– Randomly flip the switches off and on to disrupt and prolong the fixing process. (Optional.)
– Perform a kill when a handful of crews are stacked together. (In case of a 2-imposters scenario, the other imposter should not stay in the stack; this reduces the chance of getting one imposter being voted out.)

2. Oxygen depletion kills.
– Since inputs are required in two different rooms, the best area to perform a kill is in the oxygen room.
– Make sure nobody is watching the surveillance camera before securing the kill.
– Run into the navigation room and hide in the vent afterward.
If the surveillance camera is preventing your exit from the navigation room, you can either vent to the weapon’s room or pretend to download navigation data when someone enters the navigation room.

3. Reactor meltdown kills.
– Pretend to perform data download in either cafeteria, storage, or communication room.
– Initiate the sabotage and kill off a stray crew when most of the crew heads for the reactor room.

4. Assist sabotage.
– Even after being voted out, a ghost imposter can still sabotage the crew. Watch your surviving imposter partner(s)’ movement and sabotage accordingly.

In the case of a lone survivor imposter, announce during the discussion that you have completed your tasks and are willing to follow anyone around.

Crew Guide
The crew needs to outnumber the imposters and complete all the tasks to win.

1. Stick together but do not stack.
– Always keep a distance from a fellow crew to avoid someone getting stack-killed.
– Best to stick together in two groups of 5.
– This ensures that the survivors of double/triple kills can be easily identified as imposters. A double kill leaves a single survivor as a witness, while if 3 imposters are sticking together, they can only kill off two crews.

2. Watch each other perform tasks and monitor the task progression bar.
– Remember that the wire-fixing task has 3 parts to it, and the progression only increases when all 3 parts are done.
– Data downloads do not increase progression, but upload does.
– Engine refueling always requires the person to fuel up the upper engine first and then the lower engine. Progression only increases after the lower engine is refueled.

3. Keep tabs of who is following who around.
– Sometimes, the best way to catch an imposter is to remember whom the victim was last seen with.

4. Do your tasks.
– Even in death, ghost crews can contribute to task progression and still win the game.
