Fixing the reactor or the oxygen with only 4 players left in the game can be horrible if you don’t know the exact way to do it. On the other hand, this guide provides a way you can always guarantee to get away with fixing the oxygen or the reactor, and any attempt the impostor makes at stopping you will absolutely fail!

Part 1: Only 4 players left… how can that go wrong?

When there are only 4 players left, of course, it is trivial that one of them, and only one of them, is an Impostor. If there were more, or less, Impostors, either side would automatically win, and the game would be over.

Figuring out who the Impostor is when there are 4 players left is very difficult because you have to make sure your vote is 100% correct. If you fail the vote, the remaining impostor will sabotage anything to delay the Emergency Meeting button to be pushed until his kill cooldown is off, and they just get a kill and win the game. So you have to make sure that you vote off the impostor, no half measures.

This is why it is generally considered a good rule of thumb to skip when 4 players are left. This gives you a much better chance of winning the game. But, when 4 players are left, and the Impostor sabotages Oxygen or Reactor, you are forced to split up. If the crewmates spit up incorrectly, the game becomes tough. Usually, the Impostor will get a kill, and blame the person in the near vicinity, forcing the last crewmate to make a vote that might be well educated but is likely, technically, a 50/50 coinflip.

You can avoid this situation by splitting up correctly, and that is what this guide is all about!

Part 2: Forming the “PLAN” during discussion time!

Among Us - How to GUARANTEED fix Oxygen or Reactor with only 4 people remaining in the game! - Part 2: Forming the "PLAN" during discussion time!

So the first part I already alluded to is to vote skip! Voting skip at 4 is almost always the best move and assures crewmates the highest win equity; go for it! As long as you do the other steps, you should be fine.

But before the voting skip, you need to make a split-up plan. The plan goes as follows: decide which 2 players to one designated part of the map and which 2 players go to the other designated part of the map. I will give you a couple of examples to elaborate on what I mean:

“Blue and yellow go to the bottom oxygen panel if oxygen goes off, white and red go to the top oxygen panel when oxygen goes off!”

“We are on the Polus map, so when the reactor goes off, black and white go to the left reactor, and light green and dark green go to the right reactor!”

After forming this plan, you can’t go wrong; just do the next steps as the game begins…

Part 3: What if someone doesn’t go with the plan?

Among Us - How to GUARANTEED fix Oxygen or Reactor with only 4 people remaining in the game! - Part 3: What if someone doesn't go with the plan?

If someone doesn’t go with the plan, they’re the Impostor!. If all the crewmates discuss this plan during discussion time, there’s no reason a crewmate would deviate from this plan, so it’s incredibly fair to assume that if someone doesn’t do the plan, they’re the Impostor! Let’s run down one scenario, so you guys know what I’m talking about:

“During discussion time, we said blue and yellow go to bottom oxygen, red and white go to top oxygen! But red came in blue and yellow to bottom oxygen, and now yellow is dead.”

“This means that red got a kill and is trying to blame blue for it, but white knows that since red deviated from the original plan, they have to be the impostor!”

“Crewmates vote out red and win the game!”

And simply, if someone is a crewmate and they deviate from the plan, they are just single-handedly throwing the game. In-game theory, scenarios like this are best not taking into account when formulating a winning strategy.

Part 4: What happens if everyone does the plan?

Among Us - How to GUARANTEED fix Oxygen or Reactor with only 4 people remaining in the game! - Part 4: What happens if everyone does the plan?

So the Impostor should know that if he doesn’t go with the plan, he gets voted off, so he will be guaranteed to go with the plan as well and split up accordingly. What happens next?

There are two potential situations, the first one, where everyone actually ends up fixing the oxygen correctly. If this happens, congratulations, you fixed oxygen with only 4 people left in the game!

The other situation is worth discussion when one of the panels isn’t being fixed. The two crewmates recognize that one of the panes is not being fixed, so with enough time left, they need to leg it for the other panel and look for the body. You know 100% that there is a body since the third crewmate is just following the plan to fix the panel but is interrupted by being killed. All the crewmates have to do is determine who the body is.

It’s just essential to make sure you have enough time left to find the body if it is not on top of the panel but somewhere along the way to the panel. It helps to see which way the other duo went.

Let’s run down one example to see what this means:

“The plan is that blue and yellow go to the left side of the reactor in Polus, whereas red and white go to the right side of Polus!”

“Blue and yellow hold the button on the left side, but the right side isn’t being pushed. They wait a little bit to make sure nobody is running back and forth for no reason, but after waiting a little bit, they know for a fact that red or white is dead.”

“They leave to the right side of the reactor, and somewhere along the way, or on top of the right reactor panel, they find white’s body. They report it and know for a fact red is the last Impostor. GG WP”

Part 5: So what about the rest of the round?

When oxygen or reactor is not going off, all 4 players need to agree to group up together. Grouping is generally considered scummy, so that some house rules might forbid it, but it’s certainly a winning strategy. The Impostor can still win by turning off the lights, and getting a sneaky kill, and trying to blame someone, but it is certainly a lot more difficult to pull off than oxygen or reactor split that the crewmates execute incorrectly.
