Among Us – How to be a good impostor

Accusing

If you are the impostor and want to win you have to lie. This means that you have to accuse someone innocent for being the impostor. You should accuse your victim before they accuse you, because the first person who claims that someone is the impostor is the most believable. You should not accuse someone too early in the game, as this makes you very suspect. 
 
 
 

Fake tasks

Another important factor to win as impostor is to fake tasks. Some people just stand at a panel and act suspicious. 
To avoid looking suspicious you should wait until the bar in the left top of the screen moves, and it looks like you made this progress. However, this is only necessary if someone watches you. 
Another advice is not to fake tasks that are visible to others. This includes things such as the medical scan, the cannon, or the disposite site. 
 
 
 

Kill and Vent

Kill a crewmate that is alone, and is not seen by others. Use the vent in the room and move to a place further beyond, where nobody sees you. If you are far away and blend in you are not that suspect. 
 
 
 

Kill in front of one other person

This requires you to kill one person in front of another one. Be sure that only one other person sees you, not more. If the body gets reported accuse the other person who was with you of being the impostor. Just as mentioned, do not do this from the very start or you will be very suspicious. Also type faster than your opponents. 
 
 
 

Ask questions

Asking questions means that if a body was reported, or an emergency meeting starts you should act as if you do not know who the impostor is. Write things like: Who?, Why?, Where? or [insert colour] sus?. This should make people think you are less suspicious. 
 
 
 

Sabotage

Sabotaging is a great way to kill off all remaining crewmates. If you sabotage O2 and the crewmates do not fix it they will eventually loose the game. It is also recommended to sabotage those things when only a few crewmates are left. 
Sabotaging lights can also be very affective, as you can hide in the dark. 
Also if you close doors you can kills crewmates that are locked with you into your room. 
 
 
 

Gain the trust of crewmates

If you want to gain the trust of crewmates, the best you can do is to defend them in chat. For example if someone is accused you can write that he is not the impostor. Later he might ally with you if others suspect you.
