Yay 2000 credits and now…? Intex offers many ways to get rid of the money, good, not so good and very fast ways. To make it easier to get started, I have summarized everything a little.

AN INTRODUCTION

Alien Breedis generally good at hiding money from the player, so you have to search every locker and corpse in every room to find more than the few obviously placed bundles.

But when you finally get some money together and stand in front of a terminal, what’s the best thing to do with it?

Buy ammunition?
Medkits?
Grenades?

My tip, save it for upgrades and specifically the ones that improve the damage of the weapons.

Why?

Well you can see that if you take a closer look at all the modules, for all weapons there are three types of modules that can be used to improve the weapons.

THE MODULES

ATTENTION: ONLY ONE UPGRADE CAN BE INSTALLED AT A TIME!
If you buy another upgrade for the same weapon, the other one will be overwritten and the money spent will be lost!!!

Rapid Fire Module
–> increases the rate of fire
+ more enemies can be fought in the same time or more damage can be dealt in a shorter time.
– the ammunition consumption increases strongly, so that ammunition becomes scarce faster

Reload Enhancement Module
–> shortens the time to reload
+ cheapest upgrade
+- prevents reloading pauses during fights

Damage Boost Module
–> increases the damage each shot does to the target
+ more damage to the target in less time
+ no additional ammunition consumption
– most expensive module

The Damage Boots Modules are the most expensive on all weapons, but the increased damage per shot makes them more economical, as less ammo is needed per enemy. It therefore makes sense to save on these at least for the standard weapons.

THE UPGRADE PRICE LIST

The costs of the upgrades vary between the weapons, below we will now go through all the modules for the weapons:

Assault Rifle
Rapid Fire Module: 4500
Reload Enhancement Module: 3500
Damage Boost Module: 6000

Shot Canon
Rapid Fire Module: 5000
Reload Enhancement Module: 4000
Damage Boost Module: 7000

Flamethrower
Rapid Fire Module: 6000
Reload Enhancement Module: 4500
Damage Boost Module: 8000

Electro Link Gun
Rapid Fire Module: 7500
Reload Enhancement Module: 5500
Damage Boost Module: 10000

Project X
Rapid Fire Module: 7500
Reload Improvement Module: 5500
Damage Boost Module: 10000

THE ITEMS

There are two types of equipment, defensive and offensive, how you use them determines the situation, but of course you can also customize them with upgrades to better fit your playstyle.

HEALTH KITS
No matter how hard you try, eventually you’ll get hit and you’ll end up needing to regenerate health, as it can become a problem when you’re just limping along. That’s why small and large Health Kits are your best friends.

But using them takes time, usually 1 second for small kits and even 2 seconds for big ones, this is time in which you can’t fight. Hardened Armor fully restores your health and additionally protects with a shield that works like an extended HP pool, but it takes a full 3 seconds to activate. The MEDI STIMULANT upgrade shortens this time and additionally increases the amount of health a kit restores.

UPGRADE MEDI STIMULANT: 6500

GRENADES
Grenades come in two types, Frag and Stun, they take up to 3 seconds to be thrown (depending on throwing distance).
The upgrade COMPACT DETONATION improves the damage values of the Frag and, in the case of the Stun grenade, increases the time in which enemies are incapacitated.

UPGRADE COMPACT DETONATION: 5500

MELEE
Close combat can be partially helpful when dealing with small enemies or destroying nests without wasting ammo, plus larger enemies can be pushed back a bit. The FORCE IMPACT MELEE upgrade increases the damage that can be generated and also increases the distance that enemies are pushed away.

UPGRADE FORCE IMPACT MELEE: 5000

THE AMMUNITION STORE

As stated in the introduction, money is tight, so you should be careful to buy only when absolutely necessary. Often an ammo shortage can be bridged with another weapon until new ammo can be found, in many cases ammo can also be saved by using the standard pistol. Nevertheless, the prices for the ammunition of the initial weapons are relatively low, so it is possible to buy more.

AMMUNITION PRICE LIST

Alien Breed 3: Descent - How do I spent my money wisely?

The ammunition of experimental weapons is almost unsuitable for purchase, as it eats up the funds for updates and is useful at most for sale, if you want to use the money to buy additional bullets for assault rifle or shot canon.

THE ITEM STORE

There are two types of equipment, defensive and offensive, how you use them determines the situation, but of course you can also customize them with upgrades to better fit your playstyle.

As important as health kits are, they are also expensive, so it only makes sense to buy them in the store in an emergency, as this again consumes too much of the precious money.

CONCLUSION – WHAT IS IMPORTANT NOW?

Save the money as long as possible to buy the first two weapon upgrades:

Assault Rifle Damage Boost Module: 6000
and
Shot Canon Damage Boost Module: 7000
or
Flamethrower Damage Boost Module: 8000

Alternatively, depending on your play style, it may be useful to buy the Upgrade Medi Stimulant: 6500 as a second or third upgrade.

NOTE: Since money is a scarce commodity in this game, it is unfortunately not enough for all updates. After the Damage Boost upgrades for Assault Rifle, Shot Canon and Flamethrower you have to decide: either invest in Medi Stimulant Upgrade and another Damage Boost (Electro Link Gun or Project X) OR leave the health improvement and invest in the improvement of both experimental weapons.
